Hesitation and hard shift to 4th A10

Got a '22 SS with A10. Over the past 2 weeks I've noticed a slight hesitation then a much harder than usual shift when going from 3rd to 4th gear. Much more pronounced when shifting manually at higher RPM's, but also does it when I'm just cruising. Have you guys heard of a similar issue happening with your A10's?

Thanks in advance.

Honestly my 3rd to 4th shift is almost to smooth lol

Unless its 4th to 5th I'm thinkin of.

Just watched one of my WOT videos: 3rd to 4th sounds the same as 4th to 5th for me. Smooth quick shifts, no lunging, or hard shift noticed

The first 3 shifts sound harder

I don't mind the harder shifts, it's the hesitation and lunge that just doesn't seem right. All the other gears are smooth and quick (like they should be)

Is this a new or used car? Maybe someone put in a shift kit? Which I guess maybe means the car may need to be retuned?

My 2020 2SS A10 (stock) does a fairly hard 3-4 shift (with a slight hesitation) when shifting manually, kinda drives me nuts but always has done it, I don't notice it in automatic mode...

It's a new one, drove it home with 4 miles on the odo.

I believe they take some time to "learn" how to shift. The A8 does/did anyway. Not sure how many times it's done that particular shift, but it could take "a few times" to work itself out. When I retune my trans, it shifts like crap for the first 3 or 4 times it hits any given shift scenario. After that it learns to adjust clutch apply pressures etc...

Alright, so I'm not completely crazy. Thanks for chiming in Capt. I guess I can learn to live with it, bigger issues are sure to pop up eventually.

Interesting, I haven't thought about that possibility. I have 2300 miles on it and we know each other, enough to move in with and pick out furniture together! However, I remember the term "Fuzzy Logic" that car manufacturers from 15 years ago used to call it when the transmission would attempt to learn your driving patterns. Similar or same thing on the A10's?

Not so much learning your driving patterns, but rather it just adapting clutch apply speed and sync with engine torque management because it wasn't "trained" properly from the factory. An attempt to have it learn on fly.

I posted a similar thread on this stuff recently but maybe the issue is occurring in different gears and slightly different circumstances. Although it sounds like my issue is what you are saying.. because my clutches don’t want to apply in one or two specific scenarios and it about throws me sometimes. The situation is fairly hard to replicate but I would just have to summarize by saying my transmission tune and or clutches have been acting awfully funny ever since it started really warming up.

Side note: not really sure what trans optimal temps are I’m assuming somewhere between 150-200, but I’ve also noticed my issues usually occur most noticeably after about 20-30 minutes of casual driving.. I say that long because that’s usually how long it takes to get my trans fluid to those temps. If I guess the temp range wrong I apologize as it is a guess my experience here is minimal.

I'll have to pay attention to trans temps, just to see if there's a difference.

If it'd repeatable more than a few times. It's not the learning. Should resolve itself eventually. For example when I first installed the stall converter, it would slam into second, after a couple times, it learned and doesn't do that any more. Same thing on my 4-5 WOT... bad bucking and hesitation, but a few more times, it's no longer a problem.

Break-in period? Such low miles I think the break-in period is what 500 miles?

As others mentioned the "learning" might be it.
