I have a new 2022 Silverado Ltz Refreshed 3.0 Baby Duramax on order, it was built on 3/15 but doubt it will be here till June. My dealer bet me it would be here middle of April. That's a Haha for sure, however I hope he's right. Can't wait to pay $5 per gallon on Diesel, the good side is it averages 24 to 26 mpg according to some of my friends that own them which is about 8 to 9 mpg better then my 2021 Ltz with 6.2. She's been drinking some fuel.

I placed an order for a 2SS on 11/22/2021. Got allocated on 2/24/2022. I'm sure I'll be getting the call any day now.

I did go outside the house and shop. Most dealers had 1ss 1le. I don't like the alcantara or the recaro's. So I went to 3 different Chevy dealers and chose one I was comfortable dealing with and placed an "order" for a 2ss. I have that itch and don't want to wait. Currently looking at c7 z06's. We'll see

theres hundreds already on order and on the way to dealers or sitting at dealers. you cant swoop one of those up? is your build that crazy you cant live without an item that a dealer already had built to their specs?

When I went looking of my 2020 2SS - I wanted the Crush - I used the web to search and had a letter of credit on hand for the loan. The dealer did not know I was coming to see the car - it was 2 hours away. We walked in - test drove and settled for just over 7% under MSRP - and ended up purchasing her 2020 2LT as well for just under 9% - we picked them up the following week. I got a fair price for my 2014 (Average between KBB, Edmunds, Autotrader, Car Guru and another one) - had 80K on it - clean body - needed new rubber all around and one rim w/ a dent. I feel we paid a fair price for both cars and got a fair price for my trade in. Brought our own financing and walked away feeling good. This was Dec 2019 - 3 months before everything went haywire.
If 2023 is the last year for our cars - i will be putting in an order for a Vivid Orange 2SS either 1LE or Convertible - not sure which but basically same cost (1LE/Convertible run about $7k each). If I go this route I will be looking to get the Mag ride and Recaro's - something I didnt get with this car. We will see. At the end of the day - you need to be informed - do your research to what may be available, get your financing in hand BEFORE the purchase and know what you can afford to pull the trigger on. In todays market I can see that getting under MSRP may be tuff - but no reason to have someone charge more than that. In addition, by securing your own financing - you can work the second part of the deal by working the finance dept. by telling them what you want without telling them what you are bringing to the table to see what works. Best of luck to all who are currently searching - may you all get what you are looking for...

Im thinking about ordering a 2023 later this year, dont know how it will go as far as the ordering process. Not 100% sure on it yet but I've considered trading in my '17 SS for a '23 1LE. Thought about a ZL1 too, we'll see.

I guess be thankful that GM even lets you order a Camaro. I wanted to test drive the '22 Acura MDX Type S. Well my local Acura dealer finally got a couple in. They didn't have the color or one with the package I would have wanted so I asked if ordering one is possible. The said nope. They have another allocation coming in that you can put a deposit down on, but you have to be ok with one of them they are getting. Then the next allocation they maybe get will be in the fall and they are not sure if those will be '22 or '23s. They are also not sure what colors will be available. So I guess be thankful GM is even allowing you to build and order a Camaro. Acura is not.

Just read the GM is now idling the Fort Wayne Truck Plant because of the shortage, 4400 employees. My new Silverado is built and sitting in Mexico waiting for a train to get it to Wentzville, Mo and then on a truck to Columbia Mo. Dealer says April, doubt that but hope they are right.
