One more PTM question vs Competitive mode

OK, we know the deal that in sport mode two presses of the traction control button puts you in competitive mode. In a magnetic ride car, you can default the suspension to track mode so the suspension is in the tightest setting. Is there any difference in this setting versus track mode and one press of the traction control button just to defeat the traction control with stabilitrak active?

If you lock the suspension in Track mode via Infotainment settings screen, the car will stay in that mode permanently, but each time you start the car the nannies go back to full on. So you still need to press the TC button to enter Competitive Mode (which will turn off TC but maintain Stabilitrak). TC light should appear on the dash to signify it is off. ST light should not come on, signifying it is still on. If none of the lights are on the dash this means all nannies are on.

There may be a difference in the ELSD programming and allowable slip angles, throttle mapping is different.

I think you need comp mode or PTM modes to get the more performance oriented ELSD and stabilitrak settings.

yeah...I understand the lights on the screen, etc. It just seems the scenario I listed above is essentially the same. You get both lights on with Competitive mode in Sport with the suspension defaulted to Track. Only traction control light with one press of the TC button with the switch in Track. I now feel the eLSD may have a different program but cannot confirm 100%. Neither of these above scenarios are an actual PTM which as we know can only be accessed by two presses of the traction control button in Track mode.

I believe what Dave has said above is correct, reading between the lines of PTM modes explanations by a GM engineer in my sticky. Also going over the 4 elsd modes in the same sticky. For elsd and Stabilitrack to be in their most aggressive settings, the car needs to be in Track mode to start with, for both Competitive Mode and PTM settings. This would make sense to me given different slip angles expected bases on the suspension settings.
