So I hired a local company to sealcoat my driveway. I went home at lunch to see how it looked and I found they had weedeated the edge of the driveway with my car about 10ft away. There are hundreds of small stones all over the hood roof and trunk now.

I have to drop the car off tonight at the dealer for service, that is why I had it outside so that I can take it down the the dealer without driving on the new sealcoat.

Do any of you have suggestions on how I might remove the rocks without damaging my paint any further? I'm considering using just the hose, a pressure washer, compressed air, and a leaf blower. I am kinda leaning toward the hose or the leaf blower.

I am irate about it at the moment, the car has under 1500 miles on it.

Well that's a bummer.

1. Leaf Blower to get the loose ones.
2. Air compressor is better, can get less loose ones off.
3. Pressure washer for the rest, then leaf blower to dry.

Don't rub/wipe/smear anything on the car until you know for sure you got them all off.

I’d grab a powerful vacuum and tape a microfiber towel on the opening of the vacuum inlet. If the opening is large enough to completely surround the stones, it should just lift them straight off the surface.

I like Gunkk’s idea too as long the stones didn’t start “skating” across the surface.

Pick them off with your fingers.

EDIT: You could pick them up with pieces of automotive clay. Just dab them up, dont rub.

If the rocks are a fine grit, you could possibly use one of the lint roller‘s that has the replaceable sticky surfaces . But I agree with everybody else , you can’t really slide anything on top of it like a microfiber towel. If they are sticking on Due to the adhesive ingredient, I might think about trying to release the adhesion with a flood of diluted alcohol or citrus…

Vacuum what you can straight up, not at an angle so they don’t roll. Then I would spray a ton of detailer all over the car to add lubricity. After rinse off with high volume of water. Good luck. I’d lose my sht over that.

Mine stays with gravel dust and with small gravel pieces from bumper to bumper for 2 week stretches while I am at work on my hitch. I drive daily with it like that. My first day off of my week off I just go to a self carwash and shoot it all off the go home and hand wash it. No scratches or anything. I am ceramic coated if that makes any difference at all ��*♂️

I posed the question on FB also, one of my buddies had a great idea that I thought I would share here. He suggested that I use a foam cannon. I ended up using one and it seemed to work out great. The only damage I was able to find was the small chip that is pictured above.
