Preventative engine detailing

Today I decided to pop the hood and see what it looks like after a couple months of driving and over 3k on the odometer. Honestly I could have just left it alone, but I figured an occasional detailing would save a lot more work later.

Used Griot's Garage Speed Shine on the painted areas and metal, then 303 on the plastic and rubber, with some detail work with a soft bristle brush.

Looks really good. The one problem I was have was soap from my foam cannon coming through the two vents on hood and drying on the hood liner. I try to be more careful now foaming and that seemed to have helped. Not sure if you have the same sort of issue with the 2019 hood vent.

Not so far, but I don't use a foam cannon: two-bucket method all the time, but I might invest in a foam gun at some point. I'll pay attention to it long-term and see if that happens.

Remove the radiator cover and compound and polish it otherwise when the shiny stuff wears off it will look crappy again. That cover has some type of oily/dirty layer on it.

Mine is a DD...about 200 miles a week.
I Polished my Whipple and then sealed it with a couple coats of Jax Wax Ceramic 9H, then I did the valve covers, all the Carbon Fiber, and painted parts. Then I used the JW Spray and seal on everything.
Now it only takes a few minutes to detail it every week before shows.

I may try this when I get a chance- I noticed some type of residue on this piece as well.
