Quick Time Pro fitment
Does anyone have any experience running the Hoosier Quick Time Pro 28 x 14.5 x 17 on a non stock rim? There is a thread where someone has run the Quick Time Pro 28 x 11.5 x17, I don't remember the specific brand of rim. They mentioned that it was tight but did work, with a lowered 2016 Camaro.
The 28 x 11.5 x 17 is diameter of 28.5 and 13.1 width. According to Hoosier site. The 28 x 14.5 x 17 is diameter of 27.7 and 13.3 width. According to Hoosier site. My thought is that with a wire relocate it will be tight but work with the correct rim. But thought maybe someone had already tried this and could give any advise before I spent money on a complete wheel setup. I have a 2017 Camaro convertible not lowered. Thanks in advance. |

This is probably what you read. Maybe it will help.

I did read that while doing a search. It has been a year so I thought someone else may have tried the 14.5 wide tire by now. If you don't mind what offset and wheel were using? I was thinking of switching to a 17'' Weld wheel. Thanks

I’m not the OP to that thread but I’m getting ready to buy a drag pack. I’m definitely going with 17x10 with a 43 offset. It will fit my car fine. I have already moved the harness because my street setup is 20 x 11 with a 43 offset.

Thanks for the help. I am surprised that no one has tried out the 14.5 wide Quick Pro by now. I don't see why it wouldn't work with the right offset. Thanks for you help.

You’re welcome! Since I’m only wanting to buy my setup once (wishful thinking) and not get into the mess of different tires, I looked into this more. I really want to run the 305/45R17 or maybe even a 315/35R17.
Here is TRAPPEDINSIDE34 setup running 305/45R17. Looks like there’s not a lot of room left. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=562696 This is what ICTsccaCamaro experienced on a road course with a 355/30R19 setup. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=579510 Another 305/45R17 on xcrooks car. Fitment looks identical to TRAPPEDINSIDE34.

Also, for tire size comparison here are the numbers comparing ICTsccaCamaro‘s 355/35R19 to the 315/35R17 I want to use.

Thanks for all the help. I won't be doing any road coarse so I may be able to get away with the larger tire in a straight line quarter mile without all the lateral shifting the car. Although it will squat off the line but I'm still thinking it may work. Im thinking I would like to get just one set of tires for both street and strip. Last year I got tired of switching them out any time I went to the drag strip, and I don't drive the car that much maybe once or twice a week when its nice. So not really concerned about replacing the tires every spring. Once again thanks for the help.

Just an an update. The Hoosier Quick Time Pro 28 x 14.5 x 17 on a Weld rim will not fit without cutting into the inner rear fender front portion, approximately where the wire harness would be originally. Plenty of room everywhere else but that front portion due to the tread width. Thought I would update this just encase someone else had the question.
