Are you shocked? GM and Chevy do not advertise the Camaro and are not focusing on it. They are in the process of sunsetting the Camaro and focusing on Corvette.

Doesn't explain why you don't at least try to sell as many as you can, even in the sunset years. I worked 30 years for GM and have been retired for 15. In those 45 years I have never seen a coherent marketing strategy from this company. Corvettes and trucks pretty much sell themselves and yet get tons of ad money thrown at them. Everything else gets gets thrown out and if it sells, great, if not, wait till next year.

When the new big block came out in 2001 and was freaking fantastic with the Allison trans do you think they even tried to sell them? Not a chance. All they cared about was selling the rattle rattle, clank clanks. The fact that there was always a market for a heavy duty 3/4 or one ton truck that was 8 grand less than the oil burner was lost on them and a great power train died. Idiots.

Im not gunna lie. I dont mind that. I personally like not seeing to many of the vehicle im driving on the road. Makes your car worth a little more for resale since there are not that many of them also.

Only 1400 cars in Canada.. Thats awesome. That means my 1LE is even more rare here. I have only seen 2 of them in the area myself. Only 1 White and 1 Red soo. im ok with the low numbers lol

Sucks because of the discontinuation of the car but good for the guys who enjoy having a little bit more of a rare vehicle.

Same, I like not seeing one every other stop light like a Mustang or charger/challenger.
Just makes it a little more of an interesting car since they are uncommon. I have yet to see another 1LE

It's hard to sell what you don't build.

I’ve tried for years to explain this but been shouted down internet style every time. GM knows the Camaro was designed for a very specific (read that as not broad) customer base. That limited customer base was not enough to sell many Camaros. The Mustang? Not the performance equal to the Camaro in any way, but it was designed for a broad audience. Bigger trunk, better back seat and much better visibility. It gets a next Gen and the Camaro does not and it has nothing to do with advertising. Sorry buts just kind of how it is no matter how much you want it to be different.

The problem is the Camaro is a sports car with a (albeit useless) backseat that makes it relatively affordable to insure. The Mustang and Challenger are different kinds of cars, more muscle than sports and with big ad budgets. You can't convince me there aren't Ford and Dodge buyers who actually want a sports car that would at least consider the Camaro if only they knew GM was actually still building them.

Number 3, your posts are the definition of stubborn

People disagreeing with you doesn't mean that you are "shouted down internet style" IMO. All of these perceived shortcomings are fixable, but GM has done absolutely nothing about it (which is fair enough, it's their design and their budget after all).

Yet, you've kept defending their initial decision, their inactivity ever since as well as the lack of any advertising effort, without the slightest concession to any of the points anyone else here made over the years. The strange thing is people here love the Camaro, they aren't adversaries of General Motors, and if your approach is any indication of GM's internal perception of their enthusiast customer base (of course I know you aren't officially representing them), it's very sad, because it reflects a tone deaf attitude towards actual buyers who are passionate about the product for the most part.

Im not sure. Id love to know that also!!

Related to Mustangs, they are 100% made for a different audience.(Girls) lol J.K J.K...

I dont think Camaros really need advertising. They sell themselves tbh. Camaros have always been a hotrod/muscle car. They are a little more "sports carish" now and maybe thats why people dont want them anymore. In my area the only people that buy anything other than a V8 are older people who want the look of the car but cannot handle the power of the V8s and they just leave them stock. Iv never even seen a V6 around here that has been built up. That could be because we are a GM town and the Muscle car scene is still a huge part of the area.(slowly being taken away as the Toronto city slickers move in and cry about the noise)

Im stubborn though. Im the guy who wont buy anything other than a GM tho lol dad worked at GM for over 40 years so its built into me.
