Dealer forgot to remove spring shipping blocks

After 10 months of ownership and 3,000 miles, I found out the blocks are there.

Should I be worried about any damage? I haven’t tracked the car yet, but I have done some spirited driving.

Should I have the dealer remove them so I’m covered if something is damaged? The car has been back twice for oil changes and diff fluid change and yet no one noticed.

I think it's a good idea to have them remove them incase there is a future issue, which I doubt will occur. But you never know. It's amazing that techs miss these as the car comes off the trailer with a big sticker on the driver's window stating these must be removed.

nothing is going to be damaged...just jack the car with a jacking puck in the proper location on each side. They come out pretty easily.

Damage from these left in place is very unlikely. Forgetting to remove them doesn't reflect too well on the dealership, though.

As to why it was never noticed during subsequent service work, I don't think techs would look for these specifically, given they are supposed to be removed during PDI, so that part of the story is not surprising.

My dealer also forgot. Found them around 700 miles. I wondered why the front end sat so much higher than my 13 1le

They left those in my, going way back here, in my 2005 Pontiac GTO and 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. Only discovered they were still there at the dealership on a oil change. No damage after mechanic took them out. No real ride difference in the GTO, but a difference in the G8 GT (wish I could have found a G8 GXP).

You lucked out. I swear every Austin car dealer is incompetent. I have several cars and they have all messed something up. Except for BMW Austin - they were amazing. I only wish BMW could make a car that would be reliable beyond the warranty period.

These spring spacers are inserted to lift the front of the car temporarily, in an attempt to avoid scraping the splitter when cars are loaded to and unloaded from trailers.

How is your tire wear? Got a set of tires once off a ZL1 the local dealer forgot to remove the blocks.

Not first set i see in place.

Worst case.. you might need an alignment afterwards. At very least, quick check of toe.
