Murphy USA 93 octane 0% ethanol

a good alternative to the corn 93 or is Murphy a crap fuel?
Plus it's the same price or less than Shell, Chevron 93
IIRC pure gas has more btu's.

What says the hive?

I'd rather have the 10% ethanol if only for the minor cooling effect.

Ethanol has about 30% less BTU than gasoline, so E10 is only 3% short on BTU compared to E0.

Very negligible difference. Just the difference in traffic can make more difference.

Murphy is not a top tier gas brand (which the manual recommends using) so it probably has less detergent than top tier gas which could lead to more carbon buildup if you use it regularly compared to top tier gas.

I run Costco 93 every single tank and they're the cheapest around by a large margin here in NC. Top tier as well.

Sunoco e85 pump came out hot! Difference between gas jockey and Sunoco. Might even been hotter I had e87 left in tanks!

Dude Costco gas is awful. A speed shop I used to go to would joke about everything breaking on cars because of Costco gas. It was just a joke, but it's because their gas is terrible that it became a running joke.

All fuel is pulled from the same terminals. There are slight differences in detergents with a brand that qualifies as top tier. The largest differences will be with the level of maintenance a specific brand deploys and any tank or dispenser issues a specific location has. Special tip: if a dispenser (pump) is running slow - it means the filters are likely clogged due to lack of maintenance. Don't fuel your vehicle at a location with poor general exterior brand standards. If they don't care what the building or exterior grounds look like it is highly likely they don't care about preventative maintenance.

Costco buys the same damn fuel as all other high tier providers use. Only thing that's different is that the additives are added at time of delivery at costco instead of being added into the tanker ahead of time.

Well I'm not saying I watch fuel effects close enough to tell in any case, but the people who do so for my cars do and have consistently told me and other people to steer clear of Costco fuel. Like I said, I don't have the wherewithal to debate it myself, but personally I am very particular about the fuel that I use being the best quality available so I took it to heart in any case. Perhaps YMMV, perhaps not.
