The spotless rinse, absolutely a must in a hot climate. Before I bought it, I had to act fast to remove the ridiculously hard water spots from forming in the hot Texas sun. The resin gets a little expensive at about $100 for only a season and a half of use, but I don't mind paying a little extra if it means I'm not at the carwash with all the knuckleheads that think everyone wants to listen to the music they are listening to. The results were always great until it was time to replace the resin.

Below were the pre and post I didn't do any drying.
Many thanks for the info, much appreciated.

My car is ceramic coated, which helps with quick drying before spots would form (although I'll have to get it redone, it's been almost 4 years and the coating is starting to fail in spots in terms of its hydrophobic property). The "end game plan" is to have a whole house water filter installed so I don't have to buy one just for the car, which wouldn't be fair to the family either

Just get the family one of those Zero Water pitchers and invest in just a special car wash system for the car Now that you mention it, one of my plans is to have a house built and install the whole house filtration system. I understand that showers are absolutely amazing with those systems. The water in my city is "reclaim" which is pretty disgusting. I once did an IT project for a major water bottling company, and have stopped buying bottled water since then.

I've considered putting a ceramic coating on one of my cars, but I can't help feel that the paint underneath may be affected. Maybe during the Spring/Summer I'll get my Leaf done green, and then for Fall/Winter wrap it brown...

Adding homelink/garage door opener

I added the garage door opener to my eu spec 2017 convertible today. Though the eu cars have a very high spec (2ss with npp and mrc as options, which mine has) they don't have the garage door opener. Some devices have different frequencies in Europe but a lot run on 433mhz which the homelink system runs on. I'm using it to control my diy "mild to wild" controller for my npp but it will also work to open gates and doors.

I bought an overhead console from a coupe which came with the homelink module and buttons, didn't buy the expensive harness from gen5diy and instead soldered onto the pins of the module, used my own connector inline with where i tapped the wires (so i can swap out the module if needed).

I've read guides about using the passenger airbag light as power but I tapped into the mirror harness for power and ground and tge convertible top switch for illumination and dimming control. The mirror seems to have RAP (retained accessory power) so it works with the ignition on but also for some time after the ignition has been switched off.

If anyone has any questions about the wiring, happy to help.

I had the same problem with my SS (no homelink) and wound up going with a device that connected my then garage door to my cell phone. It's called a "MyQ" in the U.S. Not sure if you would have the same there. The only problem is that it won't work if the Wifi or power is down. I set up a security camera just outside so I could tell when the sorry neighbor's cat would trip the garage door sensor as the garage door was closing behind me. Hated that cat.

Changed the oil at 500 miles with Amsoil Signature Series, and installed the Skip Shift Eliminator. A must do mod if you ask me! Now I can shift to 2nd gear whenever I freakin' feel like it 😁🥳

It was the same fix for the 06 GTO M6 that I had. I'm surprised that they haven't abandoned the skip shift feature like they did with the auto stop/start feature. Both features are horrid.

Installed 3 pair of control arms, just waiting on the rear lockout kit to do the front and rear bracing as well.

Pretty easy job.
