I have a sunroof and find I only really open it on warm evenings which is pretty much never since the sunset isn't until 10PM here in midsummer. Any other time I find the sun coming through annoying. If there were no detractions I'd get it but I'd rather have the reverse Mohawk roofline and slightly improved headroom.

My 2010 SS - no sunroof
My 2013 ZL1 - vert My 2017 ZL1 - sunroof Of the 3 I like the sunroof the best. Vert made me feel like a dottering old man and SS seemed too closed in. Sunroof on 2017 I can open if I want, pull the shade if I want, but it's usually closed with shade open. In fact, I don't think the shade has ever been closed. But basically I see the sunroof as offering more versatility.

No sunroof. Kills the reverse mohawk roof that really helps the car stand out.

I had a sunroof on my BMW 530i. I only used it when the temps were below 80. Basically, for me it was a waste. I ordered my 2SS without it. I too am of the opinion it takes away from the look of the car.
To each his/her own. If you like the sunroof, go for it! |

I like the lines of the roof without it and rarely used my sunroof with my SS Sedan (about the same size). If it was larger, I might've considered it, but I'm fine without it.

I don't have a sunroof and the reverse mohawk matches my actual mohawk quite nicely. I will so though if you ceramic tint the sunroof, you do get a more open feel to the interior without having to bake in the sun.

Never was a fan of a sunroof on any muscle car in general. 👎

I had a sunroof in the Civic SI I drove before I got this car. I actually wanted the sunroof originally, but easily found this car and that was the only part of the configuration that I wanted, but it didn't have.
I don't miss it at all. I barely opened it in summer, definitely not in winter. Also, I hear the hardware takes up so much space that it decreases your headroom. So if you're 6 feet or up, that could be an issue. I'm 6' and the roof is not too much higher than my head with the seat lowered down. |

All of my other cars have sunroofs.
Not this one. The reverse mohawk adds character. |

I really wish we could have had a reverse Mohawk shaped sunroof so we get the best of both worlds. A sunroof was a must for me but honestly, living in Texas I’ve probably used it a total of 10 times since I bought the car in 2018…

I have a sunroof on my ‘18 2SS. Don’t like it. I never even opened it. Lol. I can live with it though. I didn’t order the car either.

Put me in the "No" column.
I've got thinning hair, so when fully open, the direct sun load was uncomfortable. I resorted to using only vent, but left it open on too many occasions where it was nice when I drove into work in the morning, but rained in the afternoon. Came back to a wet interior. I eventually stopped using it all together because I simply couldn't remember to close the thing. If OnStar had the capability where you could open or close it from your phone remotely, I'd consider one again, but I don't miss it otherwise. |
