Vs the automatic challenger you should have no problem unless you screw up. They only have 357 HP and weigh more.

If you get a decent launch (don't spin your tires too much) an L99 has no trouble beating a Challenger R/T.
Same day, same track, I watched an L99 A6 Camaro SS running several tenths faster than a Challenger R/T (both cars getting a similar launch - no wheel spin).

I might hurt some feelings but,..you'd destroy a Challenger R/T. And if you two are running anything beyond the 1/4 mile the gap will grow larger, significantly. The challenger even in it's SRT8 form just weighs too much and is left behind by both the Mustang 5.0 and the Camaro SS(both) in a stock vs stock matchup.. Hence is why the Challenger is getting a substantial power upgrade, because let me tell ya, it needed.

Now when you bring mods into the picture, all bets are off.

L99 smokes srt's, why worry about an r/t. As long as you are both stock and you get a good launch you will win.

The L99 will win more than lose against the R/T, just too much of a power advantage and weight advantage.

Back to reality, the stock L99 will have it's work cutout for it against a SRT8. The stock SRT8 traps everyday at 109mph, while the L99 struggles to exceed 108mph in the traps. Pretty much a driver's race there.

You'll beat the R/T with no problem. In theory, you should beat the SRT-8 as well.

The L99 is lighter and has 25 less horsepower than the SRTs, but I'm willing to bet a simple CAI such as K&N(18.69rwhp added) would easily tip any drivers race into L99s favor.

I'm not putting down the SRTs, it's just that in real world scenarios that I myself have experienced, the L99 would have no problem with a SRT stock vs stock. When I first got my SS I had some ahole buddy at work who had a SRT who claimed I'd get worked because of the less hp and blah blah blah, like 2 months after I got my car we took both to a long stretch of road after work and lo and behold, I left his SRT behind. I was at least 2 1/2 car lengths on him.

But let's keep personal experiences out of this. Stock vs stock, I don't think 25hp is enough to overcome an L99.

Launch well and you will likely win. On average the R/T and the L99 trap within 2 .10's of each other.

That being said its up to the drivers. I ran a LS3 and ground him into the dirt because he couldnt launch or shift (ran a 13.7 vs my 13.3) and I've beaten a L99 because I hooked up better (2.02 60 foot time vs 2.2) and he couldnt catch me.

So, given perfect conditions, perfect drivers and equal grip..the L99, on paper, should win. But contrary to what most of the people in this thread have said..the L99's and R/T Challengers are equal in power to the wheels (both put down around 330 RWHP stock) but the L99 SS does come under the R/T by about 175 pounds.

Launch good and you will likely win, if you spin and he hooks..you will lose.
