I'll wait to see what it looks like in white and in person, not impressed so far. The BMW version / rendition / cousin looks great IMO.

No where near the level I've been seeing everywhere. Everyone agrees the 19' is ugly and that's about it. And it's mostly within this forum. The Supra? Oh man. I've read things about heritage, BMW cloning woes, auto/manual transmission debate, pricing, 0-60 lies, wrong engine, etc. Nostalgic fanboys are trying to kill this car before it even releases. |

Everybody these days bitch and whine about anything that comes out thanks to internet and social media. Most of them have no interest in these cars or ever driven fast cars. Yet you see them complain about 700Hp+ cars being too slow, lol.
We in America have it good , go see how much it costs to attain these cars in other countries. Almost double or triple what we pay. That being said, Toyota is experimenting with the Supra, let's wait and see how it sells. Japan churns out solid and fun sports cars and if this is going to sell it is for people who are looking for cheaper alternatives to the Porsche Cayman. |

People are bitching and complaining about the new Supra...
But I promise you they'll sell like hotcakes. I personally won't because they're a bit high priced for me for what they are..but there are tons of Supra/JDM/sport coupe fans that will gobble them up. |

Not just in this forum, lots of my friends have commented on it. One is an industrial designer and can give real reasons why it's actually bad, there are some objective issues with the design like putting that face on a retro-styled body...

Maybe, but Toyota makes appliances. Then they take the reliability out and install a BMW engine.

The FT1 prototype looked awesome compared to the ugly design of thr new Supra.
. The idea o mixing Toyota engineering along BMW engineers was great in developing this vehicle. BMW performance Toyota, high reliability But if the powertrain is from BMW, I don't think that thereliability would be the same. The MKlV Supra during the 90's was a tremendous machine competing at Corvette performance level. With an engine that could withstand even 1000 hp mods. The car was beautifully designed. Many people dreamed about the prior Supra when it was brought back in the Fast and the Furious saga. The new Supra came short in power at 300 plus HP, about the same power of the MKlV. Actually sport cars are making stock from the dealer from 400-700 HP on that price range. For sure a Camaro SS 1LE would be able to destroy the new Supra at the track with less cost. I consider it a failure, very disappointed about it.

Rob Feretti said it best when he mentioned the new Supra is what the FR-S/BRZ should have been.

This ^ people will gobble this thing up but IMO it's a bit of stretch at it's price range. Lot of different vehicles in that price range

Had a chance to see the new Supra in person at Barrett-Jackson last week. It's a good looking car in person. Like most, I am disappointed that it's not a GTR competitor. But, I still think it will be popular.
How will it's popularity change if they produced a upgraded model in a year or two making 200hp more? |
