Hole in mufflers on both sides

I have the dual mode exhaust option and the only thing I can think of is..well? Anybody have an idea how the mufflers have two small holes. They look like something was very hot and kinda dripped thru on both sides? 40K miles on my daily driver.

I believe what you are looking at are the drainage holes for water so the inside of the exhaust doesn't rust.
