The spring spacers are orange rubber/plastic things that insert into the front suspension springs to lift the front of the car about an inch. It helps with front end clearance when loading/unloading the car. Before delivery they should be removed. Typically they are found in the trunk or glove box if PDI is done correctly.
In many cases they are either left installed (as in my case) or are missing completely.

Do we need the Spring Spacers anymore? A Tow Truck will have a long gradual ramp/bed.

I have front and rear ones that I used on my C7. Hoping I can at least use the front one on the SS 1LE.
Did you ever get this answered?

I have a 2017 2SS with that big black tow hook. Does anyone know how to install it? It does not screw into the hole that’s on the car. The hole is much smaller that the end on the hook. Maybe I have the wrong hook.
Also, never received spacers?

Left corner of your front grill you will need to pull the trim piece out. Then you will be able to insert the tow hook. If you look closely at the grill you will see the break of points. Upper left corner. There is also a video on ZL1 addons website.

I can get to the tow hook insert on the car but my hook is to big for the hole, my threaded end is 5/8 of an inch, hole looks like about 1/2 inch, can someone please measure the end of their tow hook so I can prove to the dealer that I am not crazy?
On the Fifty Anniv. cars, the grille is open where the hook goes! Other models, you have to pop out the trim piece.

sounds like the Dealer gave you the incorrect hook during PDI. Can I see a picture of the hook that you have ?

Just a quick note on the locking lugs for your wheels. If you are tracking the car, you should remove the 4 locking lugs and replace them with the 4 regular lug nuts. Typically the locking lugs will strip out well before the 140 pound feet of torque (done while wheels / tires are cold) that you apply to your lug nuts before you take the car out on the track.

When my ZL1 was flat bedded to the dealer due to oil pump failure, the tow truck operator told me that he would not need to use the spring spacers. He loaded the car with surgical precision using the tow hook and some wood pieces under the front wheels (creating a ramp on a ramp effect) with no problems.

I don't know that will be the case in every instance, but my ZL1 had no clearance problems using his methodology. Keep in mind that the gentlemen loading my car was, IMO, an EXPERT and may not be representative of other tow truck operators.

If you have metal valve stem covers, you'll be ok. Just watch touching them if the wheels / tires are hot.
