Borla mid pipe

I have the Borla Atak axleback, and thinking of getting the Borla midpipe/xpipe (part # 60607). I am trying to install it through my dealership except they are saying that it takes out the AFM valves which means I have to tune the car, which could void warranty.

I thought the MANUAL SS don't have AFM valves? Will this part risk voiding warranty?

Second, for those who have this part, how does the car sound? are there more crackles and pops?

60607 eliminates the AFM valves. 60610 has the AFM valves. I also have the Atak axle back and if i were to add the mid pipes i would do the 60610

You started at the wrong end, headers put out the most h.p., a mid or x-pipe maybe 5h.p. & an axle back does nothing for h.p. especially for the A8 cars.

I'm totally with you, I would have loved to do that but I would like my warranty for a year or two more!

Thank you!

When I contacted Borla they said 60607. For my manual car with the axleback already installed. Do you know of the difference?

But most importantly how is the sound been for you? Are you satisfied with it?

The 60607 is for connecting to headers, the 60606 has the flanges to connect to the stock primary cats. You can tell if you look closely at the pictures of each version.

Either works with your axle-back, it's the other end that's different. :-)

The BORLA Atak NPP is loud. No joke. However cruising around there is no drone and it’s as quiet as the stock exhaust in 5th or 6th gear.
It’s when you get on it that it’s loud inside and out.
With that said, even my wife doesn’t complain when in the car.
Stealth mode on the Atak is like NPP on track. So you always have that option if need be. I never experienced the 60606 with the stock NPP so I can’t compare to that, but if you want it loud with good tone, Atak is the way to go.
