If the ventilated seats are your only reason for wanting a 2SS then don't bother. That is a lot of money to spend for a fan under your seat. On the other hand, if you appreciate leather, Heads Up display, interior lighting upgrades, blind spot monitors, rear traffic alert, backup sensors, upgraded Bose stereo, etc. then it is worth every penny.

They do well to combat Louisiana Swamp Ass while in the grid at HPDE and AutoCross, so they're awesome in my book!

Everyone commented on the seats, but I didn't see much on your NPP comment. NPP does nothing to the performance, it just gives you the ability to make the car wake the neighbors or not in the morning and overall adjust the exhaust noise to your likes. You can either manually set it or have it change with your drive mode. It was a must on my options list.

I wonder why on the Corvette the NPP brings the HP from 455 to 560 but supposedly does nothing on the Camaro or they just don't want to say it has the same power as the Vette.

I love them also in my 2SS Vert. My back would be wet with sweat in my last car with the top off. You may get used to the ventilated seats and not notice after awhile however, they are still working as my back is not wet after a drive of more than 1/2 hour. Also love the HUD and safety nannies (Blind Spot, Cross Traffic etc).

Can't wait to see how they are in the ZL1 Recaros. Anything is better than nothing.

I love the vented seats, on hot days it keeps my back from being sweaty.

As for NPP its good, IF you manage to get one without the rattle, otherwise according to most dealerships the rattle is normal.

Thanks all for the input. I would like to find a used 2016 to knock some of the price off, but it looks like to me they are holding their value very well with 20-30k miles. I can't find any 2016 used from private sellers, at least seller that actually own the car with the title.

My main point is the 1SS already has the HID's and I like the regular 20in wheels that come with it. I figure I can find all the other ground effects and body stuff later if I wanted to add it.

I'm actually thinking of buying used 2016 from avis since they seem to have a bunch of them. They only have 1ss versions though. With the amount of electronic controls on these cars now I don't see how you could possibly abuse a rental car. Plus any weak spots like in the differential etc. I would feel would have shown up in a rental with 30k miles.

If you've had cooled seats, the camaros won't impress you. Dads Taurus has cooled seats and they get cold. But I'm happy with them overall.

I thought about buying a rental but this is a keep forever car for me right now so I bought new. Doubt a rental car was ever broke in correctly and chances are they always ran 87 in it instead of premium. Those were my worries about a rental...

I've got cooled seats in my Tahoe, but I'm still betting ventilated is going to be a huge upgrade over just heated Camaro seats down here in Houston.

I went for the 2SS and love it, I have driven a 1SS and honestly I would have regretted not getting all the extras such as the HUD, Heated/Vented Seats, Blind Spot Sensors ect.

The vented seats work great, the trick is to put your AC on because the vented air will be cooler that way. The heated seats & stearing wheel work great.

I agree with not needing the 1LE, I'm not taking it to the track that often so I didn't need that package. I have the NPP, it ended up not being loud enough for me so I upgraded to an aftermarket, but I am kind of glad I got it because if I didn't I wouldn't have the quad tips, and if I tried to add them I'd have to buy a new valence for the car. I still have the NPP functionality with the aftermarket set up which comes in great for road trips.

The biggest deciding factor would be to have the vented seats or not. I convinced myself I wouldn't buy something new without cooled seats since I'm always hot and live in the worst climate ever. Do they actually cool your whole back? I've only ever sat in the ones in the GM trucks. Also what does everyone think about the cloth vs leather?

I think I've decided that the 1LE and NPP options probably are not worth it to me considering their price, I'm not really interested in the handling or breaks. From what I can tell there wouldn't be a huge performance difference in the NPP exhaust either.

Anyone else regret not getting a 2SS?

I agree with everyone else, They work pretty good but not great.

On warm days if you put your hand on the seat cushion you can feel the air being blown, But remember it has to go through layers of clothes so it's not as strong. It helps with fatties like myself from getting back seat.

It was one of the more reasons why I wanted the 2SS... Leather, Ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, Fancy interior lights, more things covered in leather etc...

And agreed that the NPP is just noise, But I like it personally... It's a neat party trick although I just leave it in Track mode so its as loud as it can be (which for stock is pretty loud).

Mine also has MRC which is another option you can consider, In touring mode it feels pretty firm in itself... But I know of a lane on the highway (slow lane) that is consistent with bumps for miles and decided to test it out. While I felt a good amount of the bumps in Touring mode, When I put it in to track I began to feel every single bump and crack on the road. I didn't know that Touring mode was actually soaking up as much as it was.

WAIT...

Are you sure the air BLOWS out of the seats, or does it actually suck the sweaty air off from your body?

I hope its the latter....

This is the best system... you want the air near your body ( which is hot and humid from your body to be pulled away from you... blowing air at it isnt going to pull the moisture away....

Have you tried this system? Is it Pelitier effect? How does it cool? Looks interesting, only problem is it would ruin the look of the interior and be ugly.
