Despite driving like a total idiot (yes, me- for those folks worried about ins. co. tracking their driving habits. I think I would have been canceled years ago!) my rates have been stable right around $900 a year for full coverage that is greater than the legal minimum and has a $1K deductible with AAA. No tickets, no wrecks, no DUI's.
Now my homeowners has doubled since 2021. I think I live too close to California (kidding, I'm not that close). It's gone from $800 to $1,600! The theft issue has me looking over my shoulder, but the good thing about Utah is they encourage gun ownership. If someone tries to take her, they better be quick. Nuf said.

Switch to Hagerty or Grundy (assuming it’s not your daily). It’s cheaper and no issues.

Mine just renewed $564 a year, 250,000/500,000 although my Hellcat is over 40% higher.

Make sure you get your facts/story straight before calling the cops, here in UT you can not defend property alone with lethal force. So if its just sitting on the street or in your drive way you can't go out guns blazing (I'm not sure if they break into an attached garage, I would think that would give you cause), you CAN defend it with "reasonable" force then if it escalates to deadly force (they pull a weapon or attack you making you fear "great bodily harm or death") you can move to deadly force.

LOL- you're right Rogueleader, to be honest I don't ever carry a gun so it would be mano-a-mano should I catch someone in the act. My car is a garage queen
except when I'm out running errands etc... But I try to limit my time in parking lots. If I catch'em in my attached garage, well I would feel very threatened!

And thanks for the tip Dabjbr, I'm an old fart with a clean record and barely put 3K miles a year on the car now that I retired (car only has 22K miles on it total since I bought her new. I think I should qualify for a cheaper rate. Unless, of course, they are tracking my driving habits! I have a section of well-maintained old highway close by that passes thru 3 police jurisdictions and 3 state lines. IOW no one really pays much attention to it. Gives me a great place to "unwind" with relative safety.

With Progressive here, just did my next 6 months of insurance, and saw a rate increase on the Camaro for $320. So an extra $54 roughly, per month. Then again, could just be all the shitty drivers that continue wrecking each other in my area, tough to say. Would be nice if they just held folks who get into wrecks accountable, and not make the rest of us pay for their terrible driving skills.
