More fuel! Worth it?

So I'm at a point where I'm ready for some more power and only thing I have left is fuel and cooling(trying to stay away from spray) so talking to my local shop and came up with a new fuel setup and I'd like some input.
2018 zl1 my
Current mods- 850hp
LME 377
LME heads
38% cam
Whipple
9.17 lower 3.25 upper
103 TB
Alky meth
Headers
Dsk aux pump
McLeod clutch

New mods would be dumping the dsx aux and going with a e85 capable dual pump system from fore innovations and heat exchanger and a CPR tank. That new fuel system just to run E is pretty pricey and not sure if it will be worth the hp gain.

That won’t be enough to run E at that level IMO. Your injectors and probably the HPFP will be out of luck if you try to run much E at 850 WHP. You’re looking at port injection, or +30/+65 injectors and LPE BB HPFP.

If you were on straight 93, running E would probably be worth 100+ HP due to being able to add a good amount of timing. But since you’re already running meth, you’re probably already running more timing than a 93-only car anyway.

Edit: I don’t see a cam in your mod list? That would be a step to add more power of you haven’t already done so.

Why not do injectors and high side and see where you are at before redoing your low side?

Is port injection an option for the whipple? Lot less money than the Di injectors.

Yep. You can send out the Whipple to be drilled for port injector bungs. Or, wait for @toohighpsi to finish his adapter plate design. I’m definitely doing one or the other. Even dropping $4K on +65 DI injectors doesn’t get you to full E85 on big power builds because you still have to buy the LPE HPFP and that looks to limited to around 1100 crank HP on E60 or so. They advertise 1400 HP... on VS109 race gas... Decisions, decisions...!

If you like to, or plan to track the car on a circuit the Fore will result in high-G fuel starvation below 1/2 tank. The stock pump hanger has a bucket that acts as a buffer like a mini internal surge tank.

As long as you keep the tank above 1/2 you should be fine for drag racing other non-circuit stuff. I recommend you do some research here, others have already posted about this.

I believe I’d go the drilled Whipple bung route, with the injectors pointed down at the valve instead of using the Toohighpsi plates that blast fuel straight across the flow of air. It’s a good solution for a Magnuson 2650 as there is no other way. Outside of a Maggie I don’t see the value of settling for an injector spraying perpendicular to the flow of air if you don’t have to have to. Also, it is gonna make for a taller setup that pushes the blower closer to the hood. Lastly, drilling what you already have has got to be cheaper than buying additional equipment

The shop I use has had 2 whipple cars modded with port by weapon x both have leaked at the injectors/rails. I'd see if crawford racing made a kit for it and drilled it for port if you go that way.

If it was me I'd see about doing the XDI and a good return style lowside.. tell your shop to set up an account with UWE O. at XDI to become a vendor then see if your shop will give you a discount. there is no reason you can't see where you might get on LT4 injectors if its no good get the FIC plus 30s.

The LPE kit works to about 900 on full e if if you do the following..

100 psi low side system with a regulator and able to maintain 80 psi plus on load(not DSX) I think the Holey dual will do it if you went aux style.

a new low side fuel line and high flow check valve from LPE

Big Bore pump

42% cam fuel lobe not a 32 or 38%

30% plus injectors

That won't be enough for full E you will still run out of high side . Keep the DSX auxiliary low side pump and ad the auxiliary XDI high side pump. They have 30% and 60% injectors also but I think you'll be fine with pump only and stick injectors.

^ don't listen to this guy.. I've done the LPE, I have the port, and I was at the shop when Uwe from XDI set my shop up as a vendor and pushed the system on me and told me what all is needed.
