It looks awesome indeed

As to this becoming the standard, well, it does sacrifice the cupholders. Just saying.

For me, food and drink don't belong in the "Race Car". It is for driving not dining.

I orderd this and should have arrived today. Just for the occasional water bottle. GM dropped the ball on this console IMO. It's nothing like my C7 Z06 was. That's why Inhad to modify it.

Fantastic idea and looks really nice! If you by chance plan on making anymore in the future please PM me, want to get on your list for sure. I'm also sure you could sell a ton of them at the upcoming CamaroFestX (Bowling Green, KY July 8-11, 2020) or for sure take some orders? Again, great idea!

Bill
Thanks. I appreciate it. I wish I had made a mold of the lid before I padded and wrapped it.

Your idea should be the new standard.
Thanks. After owning several C6 and C7 Vettes, I had to change something about it. I even IM'd GM and shared the pics and told them they dropped the ball.

My cupholders have never seen anything other than my phone or the key fob either , I just wanted to point out the tradeoff. There is of course the aftermarket solution, as OP has already shown.

Didn't mean to criticize in any way, your work is most impressive, Sir

Another idea could be to install the new GM wireless charger module beneath the phone cradle you so beautifully worked out, and switching the original charging pad out for the 1SS cubby for extra storage. Might be overkill, but it would certainly make a great DIY project.

Great minds think alike..
Funny, but that was my original idea exactly lol. However, to make the phone tray fit, and the wireless pad below it, the entire lower console would have had to be cut open, and an entirely new shape formed. The cup holders and the cigarette lighter space is too small of an area for newer larger cell phones. This would have required losing space in the armrest cubby.

I felt it would have been too much to bite off as I have never done something like this. Maybe next time though.

Orderd new parts today. Gonna work on a new setup. Not guaranteeing anything, but things are in motion for the original design including the wireless charging.

FANTASTIC, you have my full moral support (as if you needed it, heh).

Are you getting the upgraded charging module, too? Part number is 84526978 and it works with newer phones, iPhone X, Galaxy S10, Note 10 etc. (https://my.chevrolet.com/content/dam...ble_Device.pdf)
