Yes they are scary in the rain but I have learned just to slow down some and be more careful in that kind of weather conditions. I agree they are noisy too and in my experience they last longer if you are daily driving your ZL1 and not tracking which mine is a DD. Seems as if all summer performance tires have limitations no matter what brand you buy.

The stock tires also don't last very long.

I got just over 6000miles out of mine. I replaced them with the Nitto NT555 on my ZL1 and Now at 17,000 miles, I am starting to look for new ones. I probably have another 1 - 2000 miles left.

A delta of 12000 miles is significant. Since mine is also a daily, I won't buy the Goodyears again until I decide to track her.

At least 1 time for sure (AMG C63), and maybe another time (BMW M3), Costco was fine for going up +10 in the profile for the rear tires.

I think at the ordering phase, it may double check with you "Are you sure you are ordering the right tire size", and I answer "Yes". I might have had a chat once with an installer who mentioned that RFTs are sometimes especially hard to "stretch" (my word) to match the wheel if the profile is up/down, but again, they did it.

If you didn't order yet, I encourage you to double check, and order the +10 series 315s like you really want.

They actually handle very well. Driving around at 24-26 psi cold they are very pleasant and don't detract from the car at all.

I used to daily the old 555R's on my 3rd and 4th Gen when I lived in FL, so rain was fairly frequent. No issues at all as long as you weren't a moron trying to do 90 through standing water.

In truth, I try not to deliberately drive in the rain. I worry about some other idiot sliding through an intersection and hitting my baby. So, on rainy days, I drive my truck.

However, I do drive the Camaro to work on questionable days and have been caught in the rain a bunch of times on the way home.

My commute is 18 miles each way. And I can tell you that the Nitto's have done great in the rain. An order of magnitude better than the stock GY.

I also put the 315/30R20 on the rear to hopefully give me a little more traction on take off.

So, while I have been impressed with the wet traction and cold weather performance, I do wish they stuck a little better.

Will probably try the P4S in a month or two after these are worn out.

Good luck with your choice.

Do I regret these NT555? Nope. For daily driving, they have done way better than the stock GY.

The stock sc3 also has the wheel guard or whatever its called to help protect against curb rash. Personally I think they are excellent tires.

Now if I was tracking then of course I would want the same compound all around.

My combo works great as an all around package. If I was only interested in straight line then a full drag set up would be in order, but then handling is completely out the window.
Hey....the 325's are on stock rims and you didnt have to modify anything? Tnx

Update***

Finally made a decision and pulled the trigger.

Ordered a new set of rims link below Forgestar D5 17x10

https://1320wheels-com.3dcartstores....5-_p_1000.html

As for tires I went with the Mickey Thompson ET Street R P305/45R17.

about $1,300.00

Going to throw these on when I head out to the strip so I can get some good traction.

For my regular street tire Going to go with the Pilot sport 4 S's. Just have not decided rear width. Prob going to go wider with the 315.

Will post pictures once the new rims come in and have been mounted.

GM should have sold the car with an All-season tire and maybe given us a discount on a track tire, because the 3Rs have NO business on the street. I just put 4S (305/325) on mine.

BTW, the Tire Rack says that only a 19" wheel/tire fits a '20 1LE?! Doesn't seem correct.

I updated my ZL1 RFT thread - I visited Costco for the install, and they refused to install my -10 front tires (275-30-20) and stock rear tires size. The installer said "We cannot install narrower tires, but we can install wider tires up to 3%." So he kindly custom ordered the correct front size (285-30-20) from Michelin - I didn't know they could/would do this, awesome!

This makes sense now, they never had a problem with my C63 getting +10 in the rear (up to 275-35-18), and I could understand someone potentially suing them for an accident because they installed narrower tires with "less traction".
