This is stupid. Wait till it fails first and then partially rebuild or possibly replace a $15,000 motor or replace a $500 part. Just wow.

They replaced bearings in mine when they replaced the oil pump. So far, 2000 miles later, no noise from my motor.

just hoping the tick they heard was the PCV valve or just the injectors.

What is your build date?

Interesting.. there's only been a handful of build dates in 2018 that have failed, most are in the spring and fall of 2016. It's possible you still had an older pump revision, there are at least 5 different part numbers for it (revisions).

GM is not going to go to the expense of issuing a recall on a part that's failed in less than 1% of all 6th Generation Camaros. The bottom line rules, and it's much less expensive to fix a few that broke rather than "fix" thousands that are running just fine.

True. I see your point. Still sucks for the owners that it does fail on.

with them removing bolts for stabilizer link, and control arm for this work, should I expect them to do an alignment under warranty as well since they are loosening suspension related parts?

5/18 is one of the latest production numbers I have seen to date. 7/18 and 8/18 they are usually already building the next model year. Mine is a 6/18 production took delv 10/18
