So I thought to come here and ask. I have a contact, if there is anyone interested. I would just like to see more options for us convertible owners, a great exhaust with a more reasonable price. Thanks!
A guy in our Camaro Club was the prototype for the 6th Gen Vert catback by MRT. MRT is located in the Detroit area. Used to stand for Mustang Racing Team. Guy who runs it was on the development team for Mach I, Boss, and Shelby products up to S197.

I bought the 3” x-pipe kit below for $200 even though they clearly state it won’t fit convertibles and the exhaust shop I went to was able to weld it all in place without removing or modification to the brace. It was definitely not a plug in play job, some modifications to the piping from the kit had to be made, but it was nothing a more reputable exhaust should could not handle.

Hey Thanks for the info. I had thought about just ordering the exhaust I was looking at anyways and seeing if it actually interfered with anything. I have heard of guys getting an aftermarket exhaust and saying that it will fit, but it might make a slight rattle from vibration against the brace. I thought maybe I could figure something out to take away that issue or have an exhaust shop look it over after. The price and the brand is what got me interested in this system to begin with. It is a Gibson Performance Exhaust, which I have had on all my trucks and they sound really nice, so when I seen that they had a cat-back for the Camaro and it was only $960/free shipping for a whole system to include the x-pipes compared to some of the axle backs out there that are over a grand alone for just that, I really was kind of hoping to make this system work. I was just not sure if it would actually be any different compared to my stock NPP as far as sound or louder, but I figured it had to be, from just eliminating the secondary cats alone. It does retain NPP function as well. I also seen on RPI I think it was, another brace by BMR for underneath and I wonder if installing that would allow the exhaust to work.

Hey thanks for the info, I will check into this as well. Were you able to check to make sure whether it was a cat-back or axle-back, I remember from the other post, you said you would have to check on that. To inquire, is it still on the web under MRT Performance? Thanks again for the help and info, I appreciate it.

I just confirmed with him that it was cat-back.

Here’s a sound sample video with his car. It’s on the MRT website.

Nice job...That’s a well balanced and clean look.

Did you wrap the spoiler and the mirrors? Or did you order like that?
