Just note to this great thread.
The negative path of a circuit carries as much current as the positive path.

Also, the longer the cable the more resistance it will have

Keep that in mind when ordering your cables.

Added an additional ground cable to help with the slow crank/hot engine issue...

Bought the cable from BatteryCablesUSA, 21" 0 Gauge (1/0), 3/8" connectors (M10): $12.81 + $3.97 shipping = $16.78 + $3.18 at Home Depot for a new bolt, nuts and washers... Total: $19.96 installed, took about 10 minutes...

OMG. I just ordered the cable from BatteryCablesUSA, and paid for shipping. Then after I got the tracking number, I noticed... BATTERYCABLESUSA IS IN MY HOMETOWN!!! I could've driven over and picked it up that day!!!

I’m surprised you haven’t tripped across this thread and done this already. I’m still amazed that adding one cable has totally eliminated the slow crank for me and many others.

I hope you get your cable quickly (maybe just cancel your order and drive over there and get one).

wow and to think I was just starting to like the slow start lol

Has anyone who done this had the dash voltage issues like bouncing rpm gauge prior to install and after it goes away?

I did not have that issue on my car but I believe buried in this thread somewhere was a report that the added cable fixed someone's quirky electrical troubles such as a bouncing tach along with the slow cranking.

Add the cable - in my opinion it is a must have for any 2016-2017 SS model.

This was me. It works, still no bouncing RPMs or weird electrical issues with the tach. It's been about 6 months since I did it. Do it.

Yes, I had had the bouncing tach on warm days. No more slow starts and no more bouncing tach. Two birds with one stone.

Holy shite I think it worked. No dragging starts since installing cable.

No I was wrong. Dragging start today. 90 degrees. Drove 25 miles. Turned off 5 minutes. Weak start.

Is this only an “SS” issue/correction? Or, is this a recommended for all Camaro’s?

Good stuff

Hmm! Too bad. I’ve had no issues so far with slow starts with the hot, humid 90 + weather here in SC.

No one yet has reported problems with the ZL1 that I can remember. It’s so easy and cheap to do - I don’t see any reason not to add a ground cable.
