Anyone NOT Happy w/ Secondary Cat Delete?

I've taken pride in this being the first of a long list of cars that I've felt needs no mods (2020 1LE). However, after owning for nearly a year I'm considering a secondary cat delete just to give what I already like a little more icing on the cake.

I'm just curious if anyone's done this mod and wish they hadn't because it made changes they didn't like, such as too raspy, a little bit of drone, etc.

It'll be a bit louder. I haven't come across anyone that has regretted doing it. The primary cats will make the car considerably louder, but will also require a tune.

You'll get various opinions from people, because people like differing things. My suggestion is to start with an axle back. If you still want more sound, do the secondary delete.

I get what you're saying, but I've spent too much time and money in the past experimenting with various mufflers, headers, high flow cats, etc. I plan to either leave this stock, or delete the secondary cats. Just curious if anyone wasn't happy with the change (other than those that had weld leaks).

Do you have NPP?

Yes, and I keep it locked in Track Mode, so the valve is always open.

You'll notice a difference then, my friend has NPP and the secondary delete and it's definitely louder. Not too much raspier either.

Even in track mode the valve closes unless you pull the fuse.

When does it close? In Track Mode it never sounds as quiet as Stealth Mode, which is when the valves are closed.

I agree with Idyll. I don't think it ever closes with track mode. I read it does when off throttle but I've played with other modes and in track it still remains very loud with crackles and pops off throttle in track. I can def hear a difference from tour mode off throttle. They must of reprogrammed them in 2019-2020 because I feel like people who have pulled the fuse in newer cars don't notice a difference at all. Also having the same debate btw. I want to delete the secondary cats because I love the sound but want it a little louder. Also the factory suitcase acts as the rear diffuser.

It closes a little at highway speeds. I could hear a difference when testing. I could be wrong....I might've only tested sport mode. Cant remember. So, I just kept fuse 51 out.

As Grampa_ss said, they typically close when driving at the highway or just cruising in general. Once you start to hit the gas the valves will open right back up!

My 2019 track mode closes valves under light throttle below 1500rpm at all speeds as well as under light throttle at highway speeds above 1500rpm.
