Clay Bar

Anyone used this before? A friend gave me one but I'm kinda scared to use it.

how is it different from a clay towel?
we've been using clay towels for 6-7 yrs now, they're much easier than a clay bar - if this is the same, go for it.

The difference vs. clay is it needs no kneading, to clean it you rinse with warm water. Instead of being able to see contaminates on it, you will feel them, until it runs smooth.
Unlike clay, this does not require pressure to use, but it does require more lubrication.
ONR or Ultima Waterless Wash Plus concentrate are your best deals for lube.

As with any "synthetic clay" product, do not use in temperatures below 50*F.

I've used clay bars quite a bit over the years on may of my vehicles. Most recently before I did a 2-step paint correction. I like being able to see the contaminants I've removed in addition to feeling how smooth it is before I start buffing.

I've used this on my wifes Camaro, Moms Sonic, my Avalanche,
Works great but like mentioned use plenty of speed shine while using to keep lubricated.

I use the regular clay bar. Got it for free. This is my first white car and the crap in the paint by the gills and the trunk is an everyday chore.

I’ve used both. For some reason it felt like the bar was doing a better job but I’m also the kind of guy who still likes paste wax.

I used the Mothers 2.0 and was really happy with the results.

Finally got around to using it. My openion i like the bar better for these reasons.

1) I can see the contaminants coming off
2) I know when its clean and when its dirty
3) I I drop it i toss it
4) Easier to get into weird places.

As far as results about the same. I feel like the synthetic got the job done quicker. But when I went over it with clay bar for the last time I found a very small amount of contaminant on the clay still.

Both pretty good!

I used clay bar on my daily driver Lincoln MKZ, that sits outside so the Camaro 2SS doesn't have to. MKZ is 6 yrs old and first time it's been clAYED, BUT i HAD USED DETAILER ON IT MAFTER EVERY WASH.

Awesome results!
