Header catback recommendation with ATAK

long story short I need a new catback. (I had a borla system but some exhaust shop fkd it up so it needs to go)

I am looking for headers and catback to pair with my atak NPP Axleback.
Suggestions?

Put in stock catback and run headers catless to the npp?

Buy another catback with which headers?

Would this speed engineering kit solve all my problems lol

I’d say match up a good quality brand name system to go with that Borla. TSP, Kooks, American Racing Headers.

the options are endless. i used a speed engineering setup to the axle and custom finished the exhaust with magnaflow 4x9s and aftermarket tips. i have ~$1600 in the complete exhaust, including labor, from the cyl head to the bumper. i could've knocked that down a few hundred bucks but i bought stainless mufflers, tubing and fittings and bought million dollar tips.

the car has a unique sound. drones pretty bad if you let it... the price to pay if you don't want to sound like literally every other modified v8 car from 2012+.

So now you have a car that drones like the early 2000s. Good job.

Atleast drone can be fixed. J-pipes or throw in a resonator.

@OP How loud are you willing to go? With the Atak you'll have an extremely loud setup, if not the loudest possible at WOT. If you feel the current muffler is already loud then your best bet is the stock NPP.

Cars not quite loud enough.
I think with 1 1/78 header and x pipe to the borlas ill be where I want to be.

Now the hard part is getting speed engineering headers here :/

Thanks for the replies gents

I seen where a member did the Speed engineering headers and X with 2 resonators bolted just past the X then mates to the factory NPP. I was surprised that it actually got rid of that raspy tinny sound you get with headers and the stock suitcase muffler.. sounds pretty good.

I put the TSP 1 7/8 catted headers on my car and left the rest stock since I have the NPP system and I couldn't be happier with the sound. I've thought about putting the ATAK system on but tbh its pretty loud with just the headers.

So I have full borla atak NPP catback system and ARH catless headers. It's insanely loud, like really loud. And anything after 3k it starts to just get really raspy. Start up sounds amazing. I love it. Always turning heads when I start my car. And at low speeds and higher gears the growl I get sounds amazing to and I love it. Only thing I don't like is the rasp at 3k and after. I may try to get cats in the future to see if that helps with the rasp
