who needs Yenko? 455hp just fine!

455 HP is nice, driveable, gets decent to excellent miles/gallon.
On the way home from work, I was DAWDLING behind Prius, and ahead of him, a Nissan- something or other. PITA. Diddling around 35-40mph up the highway, me getting poor mileage,, etc.
Came around a corner just out of a small town around here, and there was a straight-a-way around 1-1.5 tenths long.
Impatient, I nailed it. Behaved all day long driving to work, so I figured i would see how it WORKS.
After mashing the accelerator, as usual a fugger came around the corner at the end of the straight-a- way.
Me, I didn't let up. Thought the azz-end of the car lifted slightly, and maybe was gonna rip the asphault off the highway.

Passed those 2 cars like a missile. For an A8 I was astounded. Gawd, what a rush!

Geez, cheap low HP version. WOW, what surprise!!!
Still mild mannered enough to get up to 30mpg in warmish weather.

CAMARO is where it's -AT_!!!!

Love it !!!

Yeah, I agree.

I am not a fan of unbalanced cars. While I wouldn't mind another 50-75 HP/TQ from my 1LE, to me 1000hp is a total waste.

It would make it not fun, most of that HP will be converted to smoke and spinning tires. What good is extra HP if you can't put it to the ground.

I used to have a C6 Z06 and while fun, 1st gear was useless. Imagine 1000hp in a Camaro, 1-3rd gear would be useless for anything above half throttle. What fun is that.

Leave traction control on and it will just cut the power, turn it off and you will be on youtube as another cars and coffee idiot losing control.

To me a great drivers car is where all areas (brakes, suspension, power, chassis, grip, traction) compliment each other in a harmony/balanced package, ALA.. SS 1LE

I see you’re also from MA. I drive like grandma 99% of the time as there is a cop every 1.4 miles... But she definitely gets up and goes with the A8! The old “slushbox” days of auto transmissions are long gone.

I love the 455 Hp, but feel like it was merely a good suggested starting point...

Damn and I'm always crying about my ctsv being too slow lmfao. I don't see how some of you are happy with a stock car, I feel like my v is such a slow pile I hardly dive it.

Yeah, a stock ZL1 with 650hp, awesome handling, and 0-60 in 3.5 (A10). How could ANYBODY be happy with that? I mean it's certainly not NEARLY ENOUGH for the streets. I wouldn't be happy at ALL. I'd be extremely UPSET.

Just out of curiosity, what's the insurance premium differential between the SS and ZL1?
I thought about ZL1, but where I live, I would really have to go out of my way to enjoy it.

I haven't checked. My '15 Mustang GT was $670/yr though. $1K/deductible. Full coverage. State minimums. I'm sure it's more than that but I'm sure not a ton more.

My Zl1 is a manual (I like fun) and the motor is out because yes to me it's slow (I never had a stock fun car) and it's getting built (modded). My ctsv is slow 4200 lbs 640 hp and bone stock. I raced a stock A10 5.0 mustang last week (in mexico) in my v and he got me 2 different times from a 50 roll, so yes it's slow.

455 HP is plenty for me. I enjoy driving my Camaro. Bought new in March, I have put 12,000 miles on already. Great car for road trips and cruising. I mash the pedal every day. Already roasted the Goodyear's. Life is good!
