Rod Mod Pics/Heads/afterthought/Dyno soon

Because of a previous thread where there was a lot of questions and not a whole lot provided on the rod mod in terms of visualization, I got some fresh pics for you all.

Also,
Since I have the intake manifold off, I took pictures of my heads. Do these look okay?

Bo didnt do the rod mod, GPI does.

There is a picture floating around on the g8 forums that is a small diagram of how the rod mod works... without the rod mod, air is being "pinched" at the upper part of the intake runner because of the pressure coming in...

The rods are there to guide the air around to the runner so that that "pinched" area of area is now accessible.

Imagine trying to drain a tank with just a square bottom vs a cone shaped bottom. The square bottom would pinch itself at the exit a little bit and drain water slower than the cone shaped (funnel) bottom

Average on the intake ports. Mine was cleaner at 90k miles but only enough to say they were.

Thanks for the explanation, makes perfect sense!

Thats normal for the heads. Mine looked exactly like that when I took the stock intake off to clean up the oil saturation before I installed the catch-can.

Alright thanks guys... Just was concerned if something was going on with the injectors making that pattern.

It's funny, while I was trying to find the diagram explaining the rod mod on the g8 forums I kept seeing a couple of big names from here... Most notably Bo =)

I decided to put off the rod mod for tomorrow. It got dark and Florida decided to go from clear skies to raging storms in a matter of ten minutes.

I don't think I'll be able to tell. Everything feels so good switching out the TB from that crappy truck TB that it's all inflated to me lol. I will have a comparison dyno chart in the future once I get retuned.

The big difference for now is that I was getting rich 02 check engine lights, once I put on the adm intake + scoop, it still ran like crap, but no cel. Then the bwptb woke it all back up.

I'll definitely report how the butt dyno feels before the retune. I also plan on going to the 1/4 and pbir after the retune

There are some dyno graphs I've seen before/after the rod modded intake.

I've been running one for a few years.

Unfortunately I'm most likely not going to do the rod mod alone. Things have been busy and it's hard enough just getting the time to get the car where I want
