Is 93 Octane available?

Is 93 octane available in your area? I'm having hard time finding 93. 91 is readily available at almost every station, but not 93. I wonder how this affects performance? The manual says to use 93 or 91 if 93 not available. If the car is tuned to 93, should it be adjusted to 91 to get better performance?

I have a mix of 93 and 91 around me.... depends on the stations brand. I consistantly use one gas station. Their quality of gas stays high and always makes my Grand National happy, which is happiest with a true 93 octane with the tune it has. They happen to be a Sunoco station.

Virtually every pump in TX. Same with E85 if I'm not mistaken. I've never inspected it but often see a yellow pump.

93 is available all over Long Island NY. I have to use it in my GT350 and Denali. And I will be using it in my ZL1 whenever it gets here. I haven't checked into it,can we use E85 in the ZL1?

Fill it with 91 and put in a bottle of 104 octane boost every or every other tank (depending on how many gallons your adding). It works great in my HP boat. That is what I'm going to do.

+1

We had a station not too far that sold 94 as well. Haven't been there in awhile though.

Just make sure the 104 doesn't have lead in. I still have older cans of it with lead added.

The car will automatically adjust to the 91 octane, that is all we have in AZ. It will run fine on 91, it will be just a little better on 93. I am speaking from a 5th gen perspective but I think it will be the same in the 6th. Also, in the 5th gen they said you can run 87 but could possibly harm the engine. There is a really good thread on this in the 5th gen ZL1 section.

No 93 at a standard station here in SoCal (I believe it is all of California, but I am not an expert about up north, so I won't say for sure),...at the racetrack you can get some good gas lol...we probably have some of the worst gas in the country here. Even some stations that say they are 91 octane...are not...pretty bad.

Every pump here in my area of NC has 93, haven't seen 91 in a long time.
