L76 throttle body on the ls3
Can I use the L76 throttle body on my ls3?
I want to send my TB to Bo, but it would be nice to have the car operational. The connectors look the same and the intake size looks the same. I wont be trying to go WOT on it.. Just enough to get by while I wait. |

Alright no one knows I guess. I tried calling around and of course its not recommended. I'll try it out tomorrow. The worst that could happen is the engine chokes itself on too much air right?

its funny because I'm only wanting to do this so my car will be operational while I send the LS3 one to get ported by him
All I know is its a truck motor and the throat of the TB looks different. I'll take pictures today between the two just incase anyone else ever has this odd question. |

The L76 2008/2009 model has a LS2 TB.
The L76 2009.5 model has the LS3 TB. |

It's a brass blade (so I'm hoping ls3) . The throat looks different. I'm gonna try it out in an hour or so and report results. Also I'm gonna send you the TB and payment here soon. I'll pm you that stuff though

Just fired up with the L76 throttle body and I'll tell you what, THE TB REALLY MATTERS. I'll post pics when I get home, but the lip in the throat is creating a little bit of a restriction and the motor can barely hold idle. Overall it runs poorly but I wasn't expecting much. Just enough to limp around for a couple weeks. I'm assuming that I'm running rich and in the Florida heat that's better than lean so I'll deal with it.

Alright, so it seems that everything has calm down and the aftermath is a rough idle. Still gonna assume rich, not going WOT, but it can be done. Pics attached for the difference in TB. Not much..

L76 isn't just a truck engine. It was the engine in the 08-09 Pontiac G8 GT's too.

BTW, I'm done porting. Taking care of people that has already talked to me. Don't have the time anymore.
I'll answer tech questions as usual but that's it. I was going to try to do another year but seeing my work load coming up there's no way. Thanx everyone. |

Damn, lucky me. I thought you were going to step over to porting the LT1 TBs.
