New guy in SoCal
Sold my Holden....aka Chevy SS, and bought a AMG GLC43, nice car, but not a track car for sure! So, I finally convinced my wife that I also need a dedicated track car
 . So I researched for a long time and came up with the best car to buy for the money...the SS 1LE! I have had quite a few track cars...2002 Mini Cooper S with lots of mods, 2 Pontiac GTO's with suspension and additional power, and the SS. This car I can tell....is in a totally different class of performance. I predict I will be hanging with the big dogs on the track with the suspension and motor on the 1LE. I am anxiously waiting for the break in period to come and go, so I can explore some limits with the car at the track! If any SoCal guys are out there and want to meet up....let me know. I like to go to the track with Speed Ventures.

Where do you plan on going in SoCal Willows? Me and friend we go to Buttonwillow quite a bit just got done doing a weekend at thunderhill

I'm also in SoCal and like to run with Speedventures. I just bought my 1LE on Monday, and I'm looking forward to tracking it once the break-in period is done. Mine's a white V6. I am down in San Diego.
Your car looks really good, I like that color. |

welcome!! not sure if you are on forums and facebook but we have a socal 6th gen camaro facebook group and its pretty active and some of us also track our cars too and not just 1le cars, ss and zl1 also!

btw we need to get together a camaro6.com speed ventures track day going lol was gonna be at fontana next month june 9-10th but will probably have to wait until after summer

Thanks for the warm welcome! I hope to hit up the Roval with Speed Ventures first. Have to hit the break in mileage...or at least close, and then do the oil and rear diff first. Also like Big Willow. My favorite was Chuckwalla...loads of fun with lots of run off. I have also run the Ridge, Pacific raceways and Portland up north. Congrats on your good choice :-)
You mentioned that you owned a Chevy SS (Holden). Would be really interesting to get a first-hand review of this car. I thought about getting one as a daily-sporty-driver. What can you say about it? Quick review in a variety of conditions? Thanks and enjoy your new 1LE! |
