Cars.com or Autotrader.com

Anyone use either of these to sell a car and have any feedback? Cars.com is less expensive but I wonder if that is because it is not a effective.

Cars.com has more vehicle listings, that's typically what I look at first. How much is it for posting? Do both, and include the Carfax while you're at it. Will pay off in the long run.

cars.com is vastly easier to use from a searcher's point of view. something has been wrong with autotrader for a couple of years on mobile platforms...

just my opinion.

I've never sold on either but I bought my 16SS on autotrader and just bought 17 1LE on cars. I'd think people that would look for a car on one site would also utilize the other as well.

Yeah Craigslist is kind of becoming the thing these days like it or not.

I used Autotrader the last two times but the most recent was back in 2015 and it took forever. Shouldn't have since I was selling a 2004 Subaru WRX with 100K miles but all the service done with receipts (so no major service required for about 60K miles). Also, I was selling it in a hotbed for Subarus so it should've gone faster.

I think the guy who bought it even told me he saw the ad cross-posted somewhere else. So he didn't even go through Autotrader but the site does cross-post to other places if you pay for it which I did.

One point I would make is if you are Craigslisting...do all the meet ups at a Police Station parking lot.

Craigslist is definately he way to go. Sold my last 3 vehicles for cash in less than a week for each. Just take good pics and have a good description of the vehicle.

Stay away from autotrader, tried selling a 2007 accent on there a few years ago and we had scammers hit us 3 separate times....not at all recommend
