Brake pads that don't create so much dust

I can't see to find any info on brake pads that don't create so much dust, I go for a 20 mile ride and wheels are dirty again, it seems that I read somewhere that powerstop offers a better pad than the OEM and that doesn't make do much dust and this helps keep your wheels cleaner? Am I dreaming? Thanks

^^that, ceramic brake pads are what you want. You aren't dreaming. I wash my car 4-6 times during the summer and I never have to worry about brake dust anymore. Just wash my wheels using PH neutral car soap and water. No harsh wheel cleaners.

Interested in Z26 pads as well. I see them advertised for ~$70 for the fronts and ~$65 for the rears. Is that a decent price?
I saw in another thread that folks are paying north of $130 for just fronts with the OEM pads. Are the OEMs that much better performance, or is that just GM markup?

$120-140 is a good price for ceramic pads. They work good, but their braking characteristic is different. To me, the brembo pads seem to stop the car better with less pedal pressure. From my understanding, ceramic pads are a harder material than a semi-metallic pad, thus less dusting. Also the dust that comes off the ceramic pads doesn't stick to the wheels. I can't tell or see dust from my pads from normal dust from the environment.

Another vote for choosing ceramic pads. They produce low noise also.

I'd be impressed if they had brake pads that produce less heat...

Hawk makes a pretty good ceramic brake pad and are decently priced :thumb. If you used coupon code HWK15 on our site you can save even more!

I have the 6-piston performance front brakes and MRR FS01 wheels in brushed silver. It takes about 2 weeks for the brake dust to turn them into a gunmetal-looking color.

Are the PowerStop Z26’s good for the 6-pistons as well?

I installed the Z26 pads and noticed this as well. They will stop you in a hurry though. They just have a different pedal feel. Worth every penny not having to deal with brake dust.

Yep! No problems in stopping power. I've had mine installed for a couple years now and I have no complaints.

You've had no rotor warping issues?
That is my only issue. I only 15,000 miles on it and the stock brakes are still good. I don't want to change them out to only have the rotors warping.

Not that I'm aware of. I followed in the break in procedure and I've been driving on them for at least 14,000+ miles without any issues. The brakes feel fine and I don't notice any weird vibrations or sounds while braking.

The only minor complaint I have is they squeal when wet, like right after a car wash. After a few times applying the brakes while driving normally the squeal goes away.
