We would, but we dont have the personnel and overtime funds needed to handle all the arguing over which way to dyno it is accurate, hood up or hood down? If fans being used, what speed are they simulating? Was the engine allowed to cool between tests and did the humidity change between testing?

Gonna have to settle for me driving around and noting the IAT in various real life conditions.

Got my mini Bluetooth OBD2 plug. Whipped up the Torque app and was monitoring ambient and intake air temps periodically on the way to work today. Unfortunately that's not a decent test since my way to work is traffic lights and no highway.

In any case, temps while moving stayed around 5-10 degrees above ambient (55F ambient this morning). Throttle was never more than like 25% so air flow was low. Stopped at lights the temp didn't have enough time to climb a full degree. I'll need to take it out on the highway to get some readings closer to WOT however the car isn't broken in yet (only about 350 miles) so I wont be doing any actual WOT runs.

Yesterday i was letting it heat soak and confirmed that the drop off in temp once moving is extremely fast while the heat creep is quite slow.

Science!

Awesome, the orders should start rolling in very soon. Three hundred seems like a great deal. Is that shipped or are you shitting me? My zip code is da moon. I guess I should jump over to the V6 side more often, your guys are building a dynasty in the V6 world. I'll be back.

the thread is obviously just to poke fun. Everyone has different reasons for spending a ton of money on what others would see as obscene, be it presumed performance, look, or sound.

I think if you're looking for performance, you dont need to spend 400 replacing your stock intake with a stock intake re-built in metal but now using a universal filter. But if you want the look, that's a totally different story and not what i'm poking fun at (and obviously not what i'm concerned with).

I think if i wanted to take this to the next level, i'd wrap the exhaust from block back to at least past the engine bay.

Then you're getting hardcore. Plus it opens things up to a whole new never ending debate of exhaust wrap.
