Is it true that the Dual Mode Exhaust for the V6 cannot be added unless it's factory installed before it ships to the dealer?

You can mount the NPP, but you can't get the software from chev to be controllable from the display . But because the valves are electrical, a mild /wild switch would work.

People speak of "drone" constantly lately. Has nobody ever had a loud a$$ car (Camaro Z28) with an aftermarket exhaust? You cant exactly shut that off at highway speeds.... have people changed from wanting "loud cammed fast cars" to "quiet and non-intimidating cars?

i love my NPP exhaust, dont get me wrong... but sometimes is too quiet when i want it to sound like a car vs cant hear it.

The GM perf exhaust for the v6 (for non NPP systems) looks to tenatively price at $850.

this is the first place I have seen anyone aware of the npp not being installable on the cars not ordered with it directly. Is anyone 100% on that? and is that PURELY because of the "turn of and on" ability? if I were to buy the NPP for my car (I have a 1lt rs no NPP) would it still bolt up exactly and work? just not be able to turn it off and on etc? does anyone know if the GM aftermarket one will be comparable in sound to the NPP, and does anyone wanna take their NPP off and sell it to me lol.

I believe programming is actually needed, within the ECU/inside deck.

You can bolt it up no problem but chev won't give you the software so you can make the two mode feature work. It's that simple. And that is a fact they will not release the software. There is a bulletin somewhere here. GM is making a performance exhaust, that is single mode for both of the v6 and v8, here it is for the V-6 ....neither of these of been released yet
