Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires installed today

Just got back from the shop. 285 30 20 fronts but had to run 305 35 20 rears. So far no issues. Out the door from Tire Rack for $1008 then $103 install from their Firestone certified installer. They took good care of my baby. Its raining or I would post pics. But they fit and no issues so far. Looked for a nice aggressive tire that could channel water if I got caught in the rain. I only had 4,500 miles on the Supercars and they were about done. no track days or burnouts.

Anyway, for those interested, they fit and drove nice on the way home.

Very interesting on your tire wear with the Goodyears. I am at 5K miles now on mine and I don't baby it and I am not close to the wear bars yet. I think I will get about 8-9K before the wear bars.

lol you must drive like an animal. My OEM tires have 12,500 miles on them and I am just now thinking about swapping just the rears, the fronts are good for another 5k or so.

These are fantastic tires I ran them on my 15 GT perf pack Mustang, I'll most likely run them on the 1LE, too. I haven't tracked the price lately but when I put them on in 17, for the price, they're a phenomenal bargain.

*Otherwise known as the Bridgestone RE003

Me too, i am at 12k miles and 10 track days on the original set. My rears arent even at the wear bars yet, fronts are in rough shape and maybe have 1 or 2 track days left in them.

These are really good street tires and for the price they can't be beat! I've driven on them through some serious rain in my 2SS with no problem and on dry pavement they perform well, and a lot quieter than the OE Goodyears! I haven't done any road course days but I did an autocross at the Camaro Fest and I think they performed well. For serious track days they'd probably do good but maybe not as well as Michelin PS4's from the reviews I've read. Anyway, well done OP! I think you'll love them!

I have 16k miles on my first set and I still am not at wear bars but I dont track it and most of my miles are all highway.

Can you post more pics of the tires? I'd like to see how they look from different angles.

I agree, they are amazing street tires for the cost, BUT they do NOT like Snow and Ice.

Had Firehawks on the Firehawk. Really liked them too. Smooth and they stuck well.
