I just don't like it. I hope it's better in person

Once the car is on the lot I can’t wait to hear the “well it actually does look pretty good in person”. Just like my f-body buddies that did the same thing from 5th to 6th gen. Then they all went and bought them.

In most cases, you'd probably be right. But in this case, I'm not so sure. The front is way too much "in your face" for this car. While some will like that, I feel it's a little too over the top for most.

I think the tail lights are a huge fail, way too cartoonish, they should've left those alone. However, I do like how they cleaned up the rear bumper over a bit.

The ten speed auto, though, is a major selling and point, and my be just enough for some to overlook the design.

Another thought, perhaps the SS design is there to drive more sales to the 6 and 4's to help GM meet their CAFE fleet avg.

I like the revised LED strips around the headlights, the hood & SS extractor. The tail lights will probably grow on me pretty quick - sort of 5th gen-inspired rather than Corvette-inspired, but different w/ all the complexity that tail lights are increasingly designed with these days. It looks kinda odd the way it juts out at the bottom, but I otherwise like the RS grille. Nothing spectacular here that makes me think my 2017 SS looks dated, but this all works well.

The SS grille, as everyone else seems to have said, looks much too Dodge-inspired. The lower grille is fine, extending out to the wheel well vents the way it does, except that the SS emblem ought to be in there. Upper grille isn't leaned back like the RS grille, which I prefer, except I really, really don't like the placement the bowtie.

Finally: the thing that I always disliked about 2nd through 4th gen Camaros (all of which I was too young to buy, so maybe my opinion doesn't count) was the way GM decided to capitalize on the popularity of the Z/28 designation and make EVERY factory-built V8 Camaro - no matter how soft or not - a "Z28", which in my opinion took away the purpose and special-ness which made that RPO/trim popular in the first place.

This refresh doesn't offend quite that badly, but I really dislike how they've done something similar with the newly-famous "flowtie": where once it was exclusive to the mighty 5th-gen Z/28 and pre-refresh 6th-gen ZL1 (which actually, you know, needed it), now you can get it on ANY old SS! Maybe I'm just a Camaro snob, but not a great move in my opinion.

Overall I'm sure the refresh's style will grow on me and I'm sure those who own it will enjoy it as much as I do my 2017, but too much of it is questionable to me.

The only color the SS will look good in is black. The leds around the headlights are too long.

Doesn’t look great to me, but not horrible either. I’d like to see it in person.

I’m not nearly as good at photoshop as others on this site but here’s my contribution:

I don't have OCD but the front bow tie not being centered is giving it to me.

I dare a GM engineer to drive my actual 6th gen Camaro over that brick road in the video and tell me it's not the biggest pos they've ever ridden in. As for the refresh, I wasn't expecting much, but got much less than that. Any interior changes other than infotainment and a digital mirror from a 2010 JCWhitney catalog???

Haha, wow. Probably the most ugly refresh I've seen in quite a while. I will be staying very far away from the Camaro lineup for my next car. I'd rather have that 'revitalized 2019 Chevy Spark' over that '19 SS. At least then I would be driving around in something that looks more like a muscle car.

I think the Turbo 1LE looks pretty amazing. It kind of has a 5th gen appearance, but more modern. Here's the RS in blue

Now that looks much better!! Paint the bumper and move the bowtie. That's a winner!!
