1LE Owners, need your input

Probably in the wrong section, but this area gets the most traffic. All my 1LE owners and ZL1 guys, what product are you using to clean and revitalize your Alcantara parts? Steering wheel, shifter etc..... After a few months my high traffic parts are looking shoddy and I need your help. Thanks

Sonax is popular, I couldn’t stand my Alcantara steering wheel, so I switched to carbon fiber and leather

Sonax works well also any rinseless wash product that has no protection(DIY rinseless, Owners Pride, ONR blue, Mckees N914) mixed to its proper dilution on a damp MF towel to clean and last I also use DIY interior clean and protect. After any of these 3 you wanna use a textile brush to fluff the fibers back up.
When driving it in the summer. I usually clean the steering wheel and shifter once a week
I have the colorlock version but this is basically the same thing

I plan on doing the same thing. I'd like to also use the regular leather SS shift knob + boot. Anyone know if they're compatible with the 1LE's short throw shifter?

I use KochChemie Pol Star with the proper 1:5 to 1:20 (depending on area needing cleaned) solution with a foaming spray bottle and microfibre mitt or cloth. It does a good job of cleaning up the wheel, seats etc.

Sonax is great for cleaning the steering wheel and shifter and any other Alcantara parts. A great tip, is always have a suede brush in your car, like the glove box. After a drive, brush all the Alcantara touch points. This helps with drying and let's you go longer between cleanings. In the summer I do a deep cleaning about once a month. Winter times I can go longer.

I purchased a 2SS leather steering wheel from a member here and swapped the shift knob with a Speed Dawg, I use Sonax on the seats. I'm forever scratching and cutting my hands and was paranoid with the fuzzy steering wheel and shifter, didn't care for the feel either.

On my 2013 I use Adam's interior cleaner, spray it on a microfiber, rub the steering wheel to get out any dirt. Use an interior brush to fluff the fibers back up then vacuum the wheel. Haven't had to clean the 22s interior yet but I would use the same method. I don't have the original shift knob anymore, installed an MGW. I only vacuum the boot.

Agree with keeping a suede brush handy and brush after driving.

I haven't had to actually clean them yet, but good tips for when I eventually do need to.

All I've had to do is vacuum so far. I have this Makita "vehicle" vacuum with all sorts of attachments, one of which seems to work great on the suede. Gives you that fresh detailed sorta look.

I use the Sonax foam Alcantara cleaner too. I use 2 WHITE washcloths. First one I get pretty damp and wipe down all my Alcantara. Apply the foam scrub it in lightly and let it sit 10mins, hit it again with brush and wipe down with clean part of cloth(obviously. I do same thing again and after wipe down with only slightly damp cloth I let it dry pretty good hit with clean dry brush to stand fibers back up and brush again when its completely dry. Works great for me. Stuff gets filthy even taking care to never have dirty hands and drive the car. The Sonax cleaner gets good results imo but its all ive ever tried.

I use Sonax as well, and just follow the directions. I also use a Alacantra brush I bought at Wally World, brush everyting at the end of the drive before putting it away, especially the steering wheel and the shift knob.
