GM Tech 2 Scan Tool for Brake Bleed
Has anybody found a tool that is able to run the ABS pump in order to fully flush/bleed the brake system like the GM Tech 2 tool? I'd like to avoid buying the GM tool if I can as they're pretty expensive.

My fancy scan tool claims to support this, and indeed has the menus and action buttons. I personally haven't actually used its ABS bleed feature, so I can't vouch for it.

Tech 2 does not work on 6th or even 5th gen Camaros. You need a aftermarket scan tool or a gm mdi and a subscription to gm gds if you want the official gm software.

The Foxwell NT710 works for me as a bi-directional scan tool for many of the special service functions. Free Lifetime updates for the vehicles you buy the software for.

There are Chinese clones available. Quick google search or youtube search will turn up comparisons and reviews. The subscription may be the kicker, but not always. https://www.obd2tool.com/blog/differ...nd-clone-mdi2/ |

Foxwell NT630 Plus does this as well at $128.

Timely thread as I think I need an ABS bleed.
CHANGES MADE: Swapped pads to HPS 5.0 and full fluid flush. Must have let the fluid level drop too close to the MIN line. SYMPTOMS: Softer pedal feel and pedal slowly sinks when sitting at idle. I first noticed this at a stop light when the car started rolling with foot on the brake at a constant pressure. However, braking performance is still good for street & AutoX. ATTEMPTS: I re-bled the calipers which didn't help. From other threads, it sounds like I might have air in the ABS. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=553842 QUESTIONS: 1. Is the NT630 Plus confirmed to work for 6th gen? I also see an NT650 Elite which is classified as "Updated Version of NT630 Plus". 2. How much fluid is needed for only an ABS bleed (not a full flush)? I just did a full flush with 1.25L of SRF ($$) and would love it if the ABS bleed could be done with the 0.75L I have leftover.

FasNuf's video made it look like 40 sec of fluid flow per corner which could add up. Did you also have a sinking pedal?

No, but after Sam Strano had a brake failure during a track day, one of the issues raised was that the only proper brake flush procedure is one in which the ABS is also bled/flushed. I am sure that's not actually what caused the failure, but it just seems like good insurance to do it.

And agree - when it comes to brakes, any extra insurance is wise. Hoping the ABS bleed fixes the soft/sinking pedal. Will report back either way. In the meantime, no road course work.

I highly recommend the LAUNCH Creader Elite scan tool. I used it to reset my magnetic ride and my idle control. It works great and has the ability to do the ABS pump procedure.

Are we supposed to use more Motive tank pressure for ABS bleed than for a normal caliper only bleed?
Planning to bleed the ABS module with the new Foxwell + Motive this weekend. 15 psi worked fine for calipers only, but I saw something about 30 psi on Fas Nuf's 5th gen video. It was not clear if 30 psi was an ABS module requirement or a general 5th gen requirement.
