Issue number 2 2019 2SS

So after having my car back for a week for needing a section of my wiring harness replaced(1100 miles), issue #2 has occurred. My accelerator lost all communication with the motor. I was driving along about 60 or so, and suddenly had no accelerator. Pushed it all the way to the floor 3 or 4 times and nothing. Luckily I was not on a thruway at the time. I pulled over and shut the car off. I restarted the car, and everything worked fine. I reached my destination and called my dealer, and then called Chevy's customer service line to file a complaint(1700 miles now) and asked for the vehicle to be replaced. The paperwork from my first repair hasn't even been filed yet, and now there is a second. Dealer sent someone to my work to drop off a loaner and drive my car back to the dealership. Again, very disappointed in the initial quality of this vehicle and now absolutely do not trust the reliability. Can't wait to see what kind of ride this is going to be..... I don't know if there are other 2019's out there having issues or not, but it looks like I am one of the lucky bastards to have them....UGH.....

Sorry to hear that. I didn't think the 2019s would have problems since its not a major redesign. Seems like the 10 speed transmission is the only major change to the powertrain. I would have them check into that first.

Makes me think that wiring harness wasn't the root cause of your first issue and most likely your first issue and this issue could be connected.

Had a similar case with my moms 2006 Equinox. At about 3000 miles, a whining noise developed above 25 MPH. Dealer said the bearings for the driveshaft going to the back wore out. Replaced the bearings. Another 3000 miles goes by and the noise comes back. Dealer this time replaces the bearing assembly. Another 3000 miles goes by and the noise comes back once again. This time the dealer finally concludes that it is a bad driveshaft itself and causing the premature wear of the bearings. Bingo that was the ultimate root cause of the issue.

I'm wondering if they are going to link the 2 issues together or try to keep them separated. Lemon law in NY is same issue unresolved 3 times. If they are linked, this would be number 2 towards the 3. I'm sure dealer reps and service reps are aware of this.....Any way you slice it, it's just ridiculous to have a brand new vehicle with less than 2000 miles on it having electrical issues...it's just unacceptable....I'm up for this fight if need be, but I hope it doesn't come to that...

I feel your pain- you got a bad one. I know the feeling with the issues with the A8 in my 2017 Camaro RS.

Try to be patient and let them fix it. I was not patient and traded my car in- got sick of it being at the dealership and I never liked the automatic to begin with. I got a 2018 Mustang GT and I can't say I like it any better but so far it does everything it supposed to do but the engine sure is noisy with the piston slap.

Some indigenous tribes would create elaborate and vulgar arrangements of their enemy's remains. These gruesome displays would punctuate the outer boundaries of their lands and serve as a potent warning to would be trespassers.

Maybe GM made the '19 ugly for a reason

You'd think the 19s would be trouble-free. They've had 3 years to work out the kinks of the 6gh gen.

Jesh, you all are sure quick to jump off of the roof and demand the world. Stuff happens, yes even on a brand new car.

1st off, GM wont even entertain a lemon law claim on the car yet nor do you even meet the criteria in most states. There is nothing wrong with the reliability at all with the car. Couple be something simple as a connection is loose or to where the system just needs to be reset, could be the throttle controller is bad. Both are easy to diagnosis and fix.

Give the dealer some time to find the issue and get it resolved before you go demanding a buyback or a new car, which by the way both are hard to get done unless you are in a state that has a really strong lemon law and you have meet the criteria.

I am 44 and have bought over 15 new cars over the years. I've had cars fail in the 1st week over minor issues, it wasnt the end of the world at all, more so when you realize that ten's of thousands of these vehicles are made yearly and hundred's of thousands of the electrical parts are made yearly as well.

Come on, dude. Every time I come on Camaro6, the top threads are always 6th gens with problems.

Trust me, the issue isn't the 2019's.

You'd be right if they were building the exact same car all along. That's a gross oversimplification.

2019's almost certainly have redesigned harnesses due to all the new tech crammed into the car, like the new digital rearview mirror and infotainment upgrades. I can't see how they would have *not* made major changes.

Unfortunately out of all cars made some will end up with problems. Could be a fault in the component made by the supplier or any # of things. Not limited to Chevy though. Any car can have an issue. look at Toyota they have a recall on issues now once a month almost now because they know they can no longer hide their issues like they used to do.

Haven't heard from anyone as of yet. Tech who fixed the first issue is back today so hoping for an update. I know the service rep for my dealer was there Friday and is familiar with the issues. We shall see where this is all going.....

Latest update. Dealer had car for 6 days and could not re-create condition.Tech drove the car 3 separate times at 20 miles each time and could not get the accelerator to lose communication with the engine. While the tech was out driving, he picked up a screw in one of my brand new Conti winter tires. Dealer ordered a new tire at their expense.....wrong tire was ordered or shipped. Had to wait another 2 days for the correct tire to come. It was ready Thursday 11-15, but I picked it up today. On my way home, not even 10 miles from the dealer, my check engine light starts flashing. So I turn around, call dealer swearing like a sailor of course, and take it back. Service guy puts a scanner on it and it threw a misfire code. Also, I had gotten into the throttle a few times and I received a message saying "transmission in active shift mode" but I was in auto shift mode and it would not shift to the next gear....that's when the check engine light started blinking. I've got a lemon....no doubt....1800 miles and now 3 issues. Spoke with owner of dealership today. Have spoken with GM numerous times. Waiting for this to get moved up the chain, because of course there is a "process" Rediculous....
