6th Gen Camaro 2SS vs 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
So I was watching TV and noticed a commercial for the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class and saw that the interior had some similar features with the Camaro 2SS. Such as; the steering wheel (and steering wheel controls), the interior lighting and the gauge layout. Now I know we can't compare Mercedes-Benz luxury quality to a Chevrolet sports car but, I think It's great that GM has finally upped their interior. Don't take this thread so serious, it was just an observation and I realize both interiors are not exactly the same.

Personal opinion is the benz looks over done. Like they are playing TRON or something. Too many lights, that would be a distraction when I was driving.
In all fairness I am not a fan of these LED lighting, disco lighting trends in any cars. |

I think it's just the rendering making everything stand out more. It's probably not that ridiculous in person.

Yeah, the 6th gen interior is modern and well thought out! One of the top reasons I bought it as soon as I saw one in person.
I do find it funny that euro-snobs(tm) were saying color interior lights were tacky, and now are probably all for it lol. They're like iPhone fanboys!!!

GM has stepped it up quite a bit, on the subject of the E-Class, I looked at getting an E350 a few years ago when I was replacing my last truck. What scared me was the depreciation on them is pretty steep. They seem like nice cars though, I also entertained the thought of getting a GS Lexus.

I like the interior of my SS, A LOT. However, IMHO, Jaguar does it the best. They somehow have retained that British feel of leather and wood, coupled with technology, that is both old world craftsmanship and current day glitz. Seeing the A/C vents open and the transmission selector pop up for use, when starting the car, is just cool to me each time it happens.

Maybe this helps you visualize it? I know they are not exact but just a similar layout and features.

Honestly, when I hear the words "spectrum lighting" or interior mood lighting or anything like that, this Benz is what I think of. The camaro's lighting is nice an all. But it doesn't actually light up any area. Just a few strips of lights.
Some of you say the lighting is over done and I can agree. But in terms of providing interior spectrum lighting, I think Benz interpreted it right and nailed it. The camaro's lighting should be called something else. Maybe accent lighting, and should cost 500 at the most. The 1500 dollar option would make me think my interior would light up like the benz's |

My favorite German interiors are from BMW (higher models) and Audi. The sub $60k BMWs are no worse than a 6th gen but then WTF are you paying for.
The AMG GT interior is beautiful though. |

An E Class MB is in a totally different market than the Camaro.
