Why is Chev Starving Buyers and Dealers on Rebates/Incentives?
Why?
I am looking to buy a new ZL-1 or SS but it must have 25% off. Why? Because Chev already set the market by doing it on leftover 2016 and 2017 models the year after they were new (usually the November the year after). FYI, I bought a new 2016 kept it a year and repeated once more. Another good reason to offer 25% off, who would buy a $45-$58k Camaro with the 2020 Corvette coming out soon? Dealers are pissed too, I live in WI and there are plenty of 2019's buried under a foot of snow on lots, DEALERS WANT THESE GONE' CHEV HELP! Anyway, we will see what happens tomorrow. One piece of advice to Chev; GET RID OF THAT STUPID $2,000 REBATE FOR MUSTANG OWNERS. You are achieving two things; 1. Dealers advertise their cars for $2,000 less that most buyers can buy for PISSING THEM OFF! SCAM ADVERTISING (glad WI outlawed this but most states still allow this). 2. The conversion rate on this Mustang loyalty IS VERY LOW AND IS RIDICULOUS. It was been running for several months now, tell Chev Marketing to look at the conversion rate; NOT THAT GREAT; might as well have the rebate good on M-4 owners too (chuckle). Anyway, if the Camaro is done in 2023 just keep the rebates status quo with the past years and end it already. If you get 25% off MSRP, it still costs us $4,000 a year in depreciation to drive 7 months a year. Drop the 25% off and I will buy a 2019 ZL-1 that has been taking up space at my local dealers showroom for the past 9 months. He'll be happy as he can put out a $80,000 Duramax that will sell in a month. Angry Bear Last edited by 1fujifilm; 12-03-2019 at 08:19 AM. Reason: mispelling |

I've had my eye on a few 2019s that are between 47-49K MSRP and they are still only applying basic incentives (and the big ones like conquest I don't qualify for). I'm waiting for some juicy 20-25% promotions. Hopefully 2020 promotes something good.

I've contacted several dealers about a 2020 SS 1le and none are willing to negotiate. I just don't like the 2019 front ends.

As a guy who took more than a few swings, if you get them to invoice less the rebates on a 20, you may as well quit digging.

I recently started at a big chevy store, it seems like to get the best prices you need to qual for most of the rebates which often arent to much. We are still doing the mustang conquest which is 2k off and if someone in the house drives one it counts and they are giving employee pricing. Im pretty sure thats ever chevy thou im in the northeast we are taking 11% off and if you have conquest its 15% off. If you guys got any dealer related questions feel free to give me a shout, i'd love to help the camaro community.

I've been loyal to Chev (had a 16 SS Vert and a 17 SS Vert) but got sick of waiting for rebates for leftover 2019's (were 25% in past years but are now so low you are being raped). Bought a leftover 2019 Mustang GT Vert yesterday; -MSRP 52,730 -Discount 12% $6,327 -Rebates $5,750 (FYI, $3,250 of this is from buying in MN or N.D., YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIVE THERE). -$1,000 SEMA rebate (easily found on the web). Total off $13,077 or 24.8% off. Paid $39,653 plus tax/title and $100 doc fee. Camaro rebates and discounts are disgusting, don't buy! Come sell time, you will be financially killed in depreciation without rebates-discounts. Bear |

I've got a 5th gen, and that Mustang incentive really pisses me off. I don't get why gm customers wouldn't get as good a deal as Ford owners. In the end, that's why the Camaro will be killed off. They'll say nobody is buying, but they're not even trying.

Are there any new incentives for January now? The Chevy website doesn't show anything (yet).

It looks like they dropped the rebates to $1250 this month vs $1500 last month.
