I should have bought a ZL1

I don't know your friend or what he knows and I mean no disrespect. But you're asking for trouble. Let Ted do the remote tune...you will NOT regret it. The LT1s are torque based and require tuners who KNOW this platform. You do not want an LT1 newbie tuning your car.

dont care what hes tuned. if its not gen 5 GM he doesnt know what he is doing on it. It very different. Its not just getting the engine to run. this is a torque based system. you have to know what you are doing on this platform. You need to find a GM shop.

Thats the main problem, I live in Panama (the country). Remote tunes are not easy, AFR gauges for remote tunes need a BUNG in the exhaust (shops here suck big time).

dont do it man. The torque based system is a whole new animal and if you get the tune wrong you can actually have a very unsafe car. It can cause unintended acceleration and runaway throttle. You will likely not get a big jump in performance and the drive-ability will not be smooth at all. herky jerky does not mean fast. After doing my tune right it turned my car from a bucking bronco to smoother then it was from the factory and faster.

Like the others said its not about how much hp your buddy has tuned its what he knows about this system that really matters. a foot doctor may work on a human body part and may have worked on the fastest feet in the world, doesnt mean you want him working on your heart. At the end of the day Its your call but you have been warned

jwaked, if you have not already purchased a tuner, I strongly encourage you to look into Pray Performance. Brett owns them & runs some of the fastest FBO 6 Gens out there. He is on this site quite a bit, facebook, & Instagram.
