Anyone supercharged and doing track days?
Hey how’s it going everyone? Has anyone supercharged their 1LE and doing track days with it? Did you go with a Centri or PD supercharged? Any over heating issues? Just curious as I have been contemplating a blower.

Its ok, I can handle it lol. And before someone says, why didn’t you just buy a ZL1, the price difference for me in Canada was $35,000. That’s a lot of cash for a forged motor and a supercharger.

For track use a cam, header, heads package is probably a better way to go.. albeit pricey...and warranty voided.. also unless you are lapping with the pros its just gonna make your learning curve more difficult..and then there is the heat..are you lapping at the limit now? If not why add power?

Well I bought the car to do everything. My main priority is time attack, and I would say I got the car pushed to its limits at my local track (obviously I could buy slicks and better brakes to get a bit more time). Sometimes I play in my local Mexico racing league too but I get beat by everything and I want some more power. I want to go faster, but I want to make sure the 1LE has enough cooling to support a supercharger. I have been thinking about the lt4 blower, because it seems like a pretty good deal.

For roadcourse why not headers, cam, heads, tune, e85? If i wanted to add power, blow my warranty and spend 10g thats what i would add..Vengeance Racing does good work with prochargers... good one to ask..

I know my local course like the back of my hand and have been driving it since I first got my licence (I’m 34 now). My race car runs low 1:06’s, my previous street car ran 1:06-1:07 and this Camaro i have down into 1:04’s. There is a guy that has a viper ACR that runs 59’s, and I want to see if I can somehow get down to his times. But to do so, I think I will need more power and tires and brakes.

I’ll let you know soon. Car is a 17 1LE with a Whipple. Building for One Lap. Looking for a hot track day torture test in a couple of weeks, schedule permitting.

Cool! I’m checking out your Facebook page! 1 lap is awesome! That white Evo is a Minnesota/Wisconsin team and they always attend another event I usually go to called proving grounds at Brainerd. That’s a really quick Evo with some good drivers. And I’m assuming you are in the same boat, trying to get the car faster to hunt the big guns.

We finished 3rd in class and 16th overall. I’m trying to win the class, and. Top 10 overall would be amazing. Have to make sure the car is reliable though. Big aero package is in progress too

Everyone who claims they know about this says not to. But chevy obviously makes the ZL1 1LE just for the track. I would upgrade the intercooler over the stock kit if it was me and run it.

Where are u in Canada? I'm thinking of the same route but worry about the overheating for track days as well.

Infact before I bought this car lingenfelter quoted me a 418 CI for my 2011. Forged with a supercharger to track. They wanted me to upgrade the engine radiator, supercharger intercooler, and run a wider pulley set.
