Ceramic coated headers LT4
So maybe this has been asked before but I couldn’t find it. For headers like ARH or Kooks, is it necessary to have them coated for heat reduction on the 2017/18. ZL1s? I live in Tx which is kinda like the sun. Who’s running what header and ceramic or not? Any significant increase in temps?

I have 2" Kooks uncoated. Do not believe the temps are any different then with the stock manifolds, however I did not measure any under hood temps before or after. No difference in intake temps or any fluid temps.

Coating is not essential, but long term a quality coating will preserve the appearance as uncoatd headers will discolor over time. I have coated Kooks on my 2005 GTO and 13 years / 56000 miles later they look perfect.

Radiant heat will eventually cause damage. Even the OEM headers will eventually contribute to parts failure. |
