Holy Weight Savings... Batman
I knew my new wheels and tires seemed lighter than stock, but I didn't expect a full 10 pounds per wheel+tire.
Cheap bathroom scale but here is what I got. Stock Rear - 60Lbs per New Rear - 50Lbs Stock Front - 57Lbs per New Front - 47Lbs per Stock to Forgeline GS1R's 19X10 and 19X11 with Potenza RE-71R's. What are other people getting? Probably one of the reasons the ZL1 ILE went to 19's. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/attach...1&d=1504996612

I have Forgelines on my Gen 5 1LE, GA1R, 19x11/19x11.5, deep lug, no cap, and they came in at 20.2 lbs for the 11" wide and 22.8lbs for the 11.5". I am also runinng RE-71R's, 305/30 all around.
The OE Gen 5 1LE wheels were 29lbs each for the front and rears, 20x10/20x11.

Stock wheels are really heavy across the board. I bet it's measurably faster just taking those pounds off.

reduction in unsprung mass helps handling more than reducing sprung mass. Thats pretty significant

I could stand to lose 25lbs of seated mass.

Not on a ZL1, but I went from stock 2SS wheels/tires to 1LE/ZL1 sizes with VS Forged VS03's and Pilot Sport 4s:
2SS OEM front: 61 lbs. 2SS OEM rear: 65lbs VS03/MPS4s front: 48.5 lbs. VS03/MPS4s rear: 53 lbs. (weights above include sensors, lug nuts, center caps) Total reduction of 49 lbs unsprung mass - very noticeable improvement in ride quality and handling. |

I love the Forgelines and wouldn't mind getting a set for the ZL1.

How narrow is the stock ZL1 front wheel? My set of autocross 19's on the 5th gen 1LE 19x10 and 19x11 have re-71r's 305's front and rear.

I remember weighing my Forgeline VX1's. My 20x11 rear wheels were 24lbs each.
