2016 Camaro set for Woodward Dream Cruise

August 11, 2015 - 11:30 am ET

The redesigned 2016 Chevrolet Camaro gets its public debut Saturday at the Woodward Dream Cruise. The massive event in suburban Detroit, billed as “the world’s largest one-day car show,” is expected to attract about 1.5 million spectators and around 40,000 classic cars.

Chevrolet has been gradually peeling the covers back on the revamped sporty car since the spring, introducing the coupe to Camaro club members in Detroit in May and then showing the convertible to auto writers a month later.

The Dream Cruise brings classic car lovers and their vehicles to Detroit to cruise Woodward Avenue from the city’s northern limits to Pontiac, about 20 miles away.

The 2016 Camaro is part of a large Chevrolet display about midway through the Dream Cruise route in Birmingham, Mich. Chevy will also show the redesigned 2016 Volt, along with the rest of its lineup and a pair of 1955 Bel Airs, a coupe and a convertible, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the classic Chevrolet hot rods.

The new Camaro, arriving this fall, will do battle with a refreshed Ford Mustang and a red hot Dodge Challenger. No prices for the new Camaro have been announced.

Woodward is about 20 miles from me, but have made some promise with my family for this weekend some time ago, so I can't go.
Anyone who goes, please post lots of pictures of Gen6, especially if you can find NF Grey SS. (haven't seen one anywhere.)

I'm going Friday night. I can tell you that since the car is not in production, I highly doubt it will be open to sit in. I was at the Camaro Superfest last month, the car was there but locked. But I'll try to get some pics.

Hopefully some different color Gen 6s can make an apparition, aside from Hyper Blue, Garnet Red, and Silver Ice we've been seeing recently. Still waiting on some HD pics in Summit White, Black, and Bright Yellow. Blue Velvet Metallic should also look really good in the sunlight.

I was going to go, but somewhat disappointed there's only one. Any word on GM being at Back to the Bricks this weekend too?

Im assuming that's a Z/28 tipped up on its side? Also, is that a brake display to the right?

Only one at this display at 13 & Woodward. Maybe more at the 2nd display at 14 1/2 (Lincoln) and Woodward. They usually set that one up Friday. I'll go Fri at 1pm to see

Not sure about the one tipped, only that it's a 5th gen. Same with the display on the right, not sure. I had total tunnel vision for the 6th gen. Looks awesome in person.

I plan on going tonight and parking on Woodward Saturday. Was hoping Chevy would be driving a few of them along Woodward.
