What, if any Lexus competes with SS?
In terms of acceleration, what two or three year old Lexus, if any will give an SS a go? Assume both are stock and I'm not talking about the $100K plus models, just the Lexus your neighbor might buy.

The Lexus IS-F might give you a run. It's a V8, real wheel drive, over 400hp and paddle shifts like a formula one car. It would be a challenge. I think that one would come down to drivers.. It has a base of around $60K so similar to that of a Caddy CTS-V. Unfortunately there are some pretty quick foreign jobs out there. That's why, you add some mods and getting beat will never happen.

$62K, 416 bhp, 3780 lbs, 4.6 sec 0-60mph, 13.0 sec. 1/4 mile.
I'd call it a driver's race myself.......(for nearly double the price).

My apologies
I meant to exclude the LSF. I thought it was around $100K. I'm talking about the basic Lexus line.

I can tell you that there is one (IS-f) around my area that probably won't be challenging me again.

No one is talking about the LFA. We're talking the IS-F. I think it's the sporty verison of the Lexus IS300. It shifts like a bat out of hell too. Supposedly one of the smoothest, fasting shifting paddle shift trannys out there. I agree that it would be a drivers race. .

The Lexus IS-F ($65.5K) is 420hp V8 RWD Sedan...and it will run right with you on any given day. Its paddles and 8 speed trans will probably whip you if you're off on a gear shift. Beautiful car, I almost bought one. The Lexus LFA ($400K) is a 552hp V10 RWD Super Car. I wouldn't even compare a SS to this. Its not a fair comparision. Perhaps in hp with enough mods, but not in technology, luxury, and individuality. The two cars listed above are why i never understand why people insult Toyota's ablity to create a performance car.

Because they haven't been able to do it in the $30k range for how long now? And everything else they make is mostly slow and boring. It's not that they can't; it's that they don't.
