Full gas tank at delivery?

Sorry for the noobish question. This is my second brand new car, first one was a lease and i know it is a small detail but are dealers obligated to fill up the first gas tank?

I mean when i got my lease the dealer filled it up before i took ownership but when i go pick up my LT, is this something that HAS to be done by the dealer?

I actually tried to find a similar topic but there was none and i even tried to googled it and found nada! Maybe cuz it's too silly a question? I guess i am getting nervous about delivery...

My dealer gave me a half tank.

It was near empty when I test drove it, so I was happy enough. Still didn't make total sense to me that they didn't just fill it all the way...

The sour grapes side of me says it was probably 87 octane anyways!

Can't remember with my camaro but when I bought out town and country this year the chrysler dealer only gave us a quarter tank. I think that's a slap in the face no matter how much gas cost. If anything they should figure it in the price to atleast make you think they are taking care of you.

I have always gotten full tanks in every new car deal, in fact there were times where i had to bring it back in to finish up on a detail or maybe something needed fixed and they filled it up again for the mishap.

I had a dealer give me a voucher that was good at a local filling station to fill up the tank. I guess they couldn't be bothered with it? Still, it was nice to get the first tank on the house.
